Re: Boo hoo - We had a little snow and ice...
Y'all c'mon. Start just about 40 minutes West of Nashville and work East: find your favorite spot and enjoy. I won't knock anyone else's home state - I still love Michigan, enjoy visiting Virginia when we go - but I've become a rock solid Tennessean. There's very little the state doesn't offer (IMHO) and the area around Nashville (and truly the whole state) is exceptionally economically solid. It's a great place to live.
We're working on fixing a few more tax issues for retirees right now. Hopefully be ready for ya' right on time.
When we go to 'Dega we go right thru Nashville. Been over to Chattanooga too and some Civil War fields in-between. Rolling hills are pretty nice over there......
Man, this weather has been brutal lately! 15 inches on Thursday, another 6 on Saturday, calling for 2-4 this afternoon, and Monday night into Tuesday the possibility of another 6+, but it could be a "wintery mix", meaning ice at the end. But then temps in the 50's by the end of the week, followed by cold and more snow! Guess we are getting close to spring and crazy temp swings.
But I love the snow!
As mentioned, finished plowing yesterday, got a quick 3" as soon as I finished. talking 7/8" from 2am - noon. Plow is going to sit until that comes thru tomorrow. We'll see how many calls I get today about the 3". maybe I wont answer the phone....
No 50s for us, talking a couple days in the 30s. 50s would make this a lot easier......
I love snow too, especially when it turns to running water in the spring.......
Come on down to SC. Lots of beautiful farm land within minutes of the cities. Many large lakes and rivers. Now matter where you live, you are only 5 or 6 hours max from the Ocean and the Mountains. Many who come down here from the North, fall in love with Greenville or Charleston. If you can take the heat and humidity, then you will love it. Some Northerners just never get used to the Hot part of living in the South. They will gripe and grumble and that can be annoying. "I don't see how you people stand it!" Well if you would quit talking about it, then I wouldn't even think about it! haha
I've heard SC is really nice. As far as the heat, either you sit in the house with the furnace running non stop, or, you sit in the house with air going. I'll take the air...........
Living relatively close to the ocean would be a major plus....... 3hrs would be better yet........
My wife tele- commutes so she can move anywhere in the US. I can adapt too.....
