Jody's idea of sunday fun while i nursed a slight hangover...

good cover from plain old exterior house paint, straight over the glue! were not being too fussy up here in the cabin - im still under instruction to remove the lid next year anyway...

and we now have the power steering hooked up ( had to drill out old connecting pin and make a new 1) and the trim pump is operational... id be happy except everything is going too smoothly, i keep looking over my shoulder for murphy to show up

Party on wayne! :stupid:

Zoomies (upwards turned individual header pipes) poking out the sides of the doghouse would be uber kewl. And you have to carry so many pairs of foamy ear plugs on board, you could probably count them as flotation. ;)

Nice looking boat there gsx. I spend at least 10x more time working on mine than using her. More than that even. The lake we use her on is 4 hrs away and we usually get up there 2 maybe 3 times a summer for 3 days at a clip.

aye she be a fine old barge! 20 foot displacement, running a holden 202 (3.3litre) inline 6 thru a velvet drive. i like the idea of a hard top, it has a canopy, but...

and pat if i lived that far from the water id pull up anchor and move!!! when we bought our house my stipulation was that we move closer to the coast or we dont move at all!!

I must clarify, I live on Long Island, I am 5 minutes away from the LI Sound and maybe 15 minutes away from the South Shore which has The Great South Bay and also the Atlantic. My little 16 foot boat isn't really big enough for the ocean. It also has never been in Salt water and I like that. It is pretty clean in and out. I grew up spending my summers up on the lake and so I never really got into the whole salt water thing. I have a few friends with boats down here and I will occasionally be asked out with them but man it seems like such a hassle. Sand bars and seaweed getting in the prop not to mention how much rougher it is than my little 5 mile long Lake. I'll take the fresh water everyday. I get the draw the ocean has, it just never got me.

i thought NY was near some water! Our river is 2 hrs away (the mighty murray), and tho its great fun on the jetski and boats, u dont get squid there, or anything good to eat really, so the salt and having to clean it off is no prob to me! Heres where i find a feed... :fish2:

That's nice, Dan. I could live with it being that rough even though that is how choppy my lake gets during a storm. My little tin can handles the chop but it does get bounced around. I like to bass Fish and they stock the lake with bass, pike, pickerel, rainbow trout, walleye, and pan fish like perch, rock bass and sun fish.

Nice to have options, our southern freshwater fish are frankly boring - but cant resist a soft brag here - i grow rainbow trout in the backyard!

Wrestled the outdrive on today, bled the trim pump and fitted the bellows and props - all in all fairly pleased :encouragement: goes up and down and side to side - now to get it going forward and backward!!

will pull the props off and repaint them when i get an anode (goes in front of props)
