hahaha hey man different strokes for different folks :) I don't really care for the half assed attempts at cuddy cabins on most boats they might as well be bow riders since there is no head room in them mine however you can sit confortably as if you were in a huge cabin cruiser, however I sacrifice that stealthy look for a old antique boat look :0. great job btw the boat looks awesome , I'm seriously debating carpet for mine as well the restore 10x works great but a pain to clean:)

rofl yeah this cabin is a joke - head room for the pixies only... this model came out with a bowrider option so we think its possible (jody is determined it is!!) and where we pull up at the shack its just nose it in, so boarding boats is usually over or thru the bow. Ima also gonna chop out the front point of the bow rail to make boarding that way easier, no matter which configuration she floats in.

I do carpet in all my boats, because its so nice on the feet and nice in the heat, and with waterproof glue (artificial turf glue) the water just drains off, and gives (imo) a more refined look (and a hose off to clean)...

Engine on its way in

and thar she blows!!

I sweat so much thru the build about building a big ass engine hoist, cause i was sure my crane would fall short, and in the end i just used an oar to hold the engine in the right position as the crane came down. Woo Hoo!!!

Got to be a great feeling when you get to this point in the rebuild process. It's all down hill from here now.;)

Happy as, and yup its all downhill - to launch it at the ramp! Just did the valve lash (hopefully the right way?) Now i have to go shell out big coin for genuine volvo spares (ouch!) to mount up the transom shield. Still need to trace about 2km of wiring (nothing was marked at disassembly) but am def in a positive mood :watermelon:

We have the power!! well we have some power - traced most of the wiring loom and we now have ignition, starter motor, stereo (which survived the grinding and water spraying) nav and anchor lights, horn, gauges, accessory power - only thing not apparent is spark... but at least i have tunes to work to now :music:.

Google is hiding the wiring schematic for this loom and wont let me see it, so am a little lost atm... here sparky sparky :torn:

Hi there guys!! This is Jody - wife/co-pilot/pilot/boat ***** enabler. Just read through all the threads for the first time and the info has been gold, not to mention the feedback, pats on the head and repeated rolfing, can't wait to get this boat wet, terribly proud of this man:cheer2:

Its alive bwahahaha!!! First pop of the starter after putting fuel in and ROAR!! :flame: Turns out sparky was hiding in the broken rotor button, so i used the soldering iron to 'glue' it together till we can order a new 1.

Yee-feckin-har!!

Just waitin on parts to arrive to be able to bolt up the engine and outdrive, and in the meantime lots of finishing work goin on (had to take a break and head up th river for the weekend) even got some interior detailing done (to keep the missus happy)

Lots of stuff bolted just to check dimensions - which is good cause the engine mounts are a bit low, so ive had a chance to glass up some risers. (still kickin off)

and have finished building new side pockets (with extra drink holders, cause we get thirsty here in aus!!:very_drunk:)

And the big news - holy smoke batman - ive just been offered a job at a boatworks! (i say offered, but he told me hes happy to beg if need be...) The foreman at a big shop near our river shack is a buddy of ours, hes been following the build on jodys facebook and likes what he sees. I told him to wait till this girl sinks or swims, but that dont matter, i can start whenever i like!! :witless:

Outstanding work! Better than factory for sure.
I was a bit disappointed at the construction of my Four Winns and now its much better. Will last for decades.

Still waiting for parts... in the meantime each day sees more small jobs complete.

also pb'd & glassed in a new bow hook support, photo shows what was left of the old chock of wood, it sat loose & encased in a full pocket of water...

Lookin forward to learnin some proper boat building, but not full time yet, ill do maybe a couple of days a week at the boatyard - its just that we're talkin nearly 2 hours drive from home, and tho i can stay at the shack, the family lives back here!!
