got so excited i forgot to take anymore photos, but there is a vid if i can work out how to post it...

overall a good bath, but after a 5 min low rev run she got a bit warm (hot), then as we pulled into the dock had trouble shifting into reverse, then she stalled. it wouldnt start again straight away, and we were running a bit late for a thing, so just trailered up and brought her home. few hours later got home and had to crank for a few seconds and just got a cough, tried that a few times and she started again - all seems well except now a bit of a noise in the outdrive - like a playing card in a bicycle wheel (even in neutral). new years eve here tomorro, so will have to wait a couple of days to check it out and see what i find... pretty sure the cooling system is not working at all, and the drive noise worries the heck outa me, but not gonna lose hair about it, cause 'the mistress' got wet without leaking anywhere - and thats a good start! (was that an inappropriate way to bring up the working name?? lol)

lol good job on the not wet part , for the overheating try checking thermostat, also did you replace impeller in water pump? also remember when running on muffs you are forcing water in but when running on water its using gravity to feed the pump pumps actually don't pump they create negative pressure and gravity pushes water into it .
check timing if timing is out that will cause overheating .

Sure looks like a splash Kcassels. All he needs is a nomination. You can refuse and go for next year Dan if you don't want to duke it out with Mick. Lol. But rumor has it Mick might be splashing an old wood boat in 17. Right Mick. :D

Great looking on the water man. Dont know why but I love the cc boats. When you get the bugs worked out it will be awesome. Got to get started on one of mine soon.

Had a spare few mins today so i pulled off the 'thermostat' housing (aka 'the rust hole') and found a spring wedged into the outlet - a spring that at one time was attached to a whole thermostat, a bit of digging around revealed another related artifact:

i dont see how this would cause overheat tho, will spend some time tomorrow investigating, along with some other niggles like the oil pressure sender is not working, its not the gauge at fault as it will peg out if i ground the sender wire. oh and the fuel gauge (or sender) is also lifeless... and theres the noise in the leg, not loud, but disturbing nonetheless.
