Good to hear you're taking a shot at the job. I sincerely hope it works out well for you.

And your boat is looking better every time I see it here in this thread. How much longer before you think you'll be able to splash it?

BTW: What kind of GSXR? I've had a '97 750 and my wife ran a '96 600. Both were the SRAD body styles.

Well than ye muchly! The piece of string i use to measure when she'll be ready keeps getting longer, but the goal from the outset was to be ready by christmas, so until we've gone past that, thens when im shooting for...

Have had 2 of the 96 750, bought em as wrecks, fixed em, thrashed em, loved em for a yearish each and sold em (not trashed em, tho i did scare myself in the end...) and more recently had a '01 1000, bored out to 1100, cammed, 1 off titanium system, power commander, dynoed at 194, pure ridiculous... sold it cause it was no fun at all (not compared to a boat - jump in and go as fast as u want, do as many donuts as u want, anytime u want, and not be breaking the law). we put the cash toward the river shack, and never looked back! (easy to say when i still have some back up bike projects :becky:)

I got into Supermotos for a while after I got rid of the sport bikes. Mine was an '03 WR450 with 17" Excell wheels and a ton of motor and plastic work. It was such a blast to ride it like an idiot I almost got into more trouble being a hooligan on that thing than I did with any of my previous sport bikes. Had to get rid of it after my second back surgery, so now I've started messing with boats instead.

love the motards; next project for me has to be finaly finishing my HRC racebike to road conversion, my only project that sits neglected while literally hundreds of other projects have been completed around it! might make working so far away more bearable if i can ride instead of drive... :plane:

I'm still debating the carpet in the boat , I think it would give it a much cleaner look but I just worry about moisture wicking from carpet and getting into my wood side panels over time

Thanks guys! MIck i dont think this carpet holds much water, i always found it to dry out pretty quick, and water seems to run thru it rather than sitting in it (marine carpet after all) so long as you sealed all the wood...

The exhaust relief hoses finally arrived so ive buttoned up the transom shield, 'y' pipe, and engine mount risers - the risers are glassed, flowcoated, and glued down with 5200. The engine is resting on the mounts with the chain just holding some tension, waiting for the 5200 to set.

Also paid for a pair of props for it today, should arrive late next week.

Hey Dan, just read through the build and must say, great job. You have some skills. I did read a few pages when you first started and I guess I forgot to subscribe. Real interesting stuff. Good luck with the new job if you take it. It seems you would fit right in. Looking forward to the splash like the rest of this mob following along.

Oh my goodness!!! That Mr. Metabo sure is a helpful fellow. That might be the first time I saw a prop in that many pieces that WASN'T run into a hard stationary object.

You know there's a nut inside that holds it on? :D I guess that's what you get when you don't grease the shaft well.
