I really appreciate your response to my question because it certainly gives me options I wasn't aware of.
With the blisters you mentioned and how the moisture may have worked its way through the paint do you think this could be a shortcoming of the type of paint?
I want to do it right but I also have to watch $$$$.

I don't think its the paints fault... Its mine for letting it sit with a hole in the cover all winter... Its a topside paint and isn't meant to be submerged, which it essentially was for several months (plus freeze/thaw cycles on top of it).

I'd not hesitate to use a 1 part poly again, I just think I'd use 2 part next time just for the sake of ease... No sanding required between coats (plus a little more durable).

I have flotation foam installed up to the console area and had to fix my noob mistakes on the transom as far as not being flat . So I sanded high spots and filling the low spots with hull putty till it was perfect then laid a layer of 1708 over it.
I spent today smoothing the back along the tabbing and floor areas with hull putty just to make it smoother but unfortunately not show quality .
If u get the chance to do the final sand in the stern are I will be ready for gelcoat finally.
I have the mid seat bases tabbed finally and hopefully during the upcoming week finish foam install but with prices rising it may be a couple weeks till I can get some gelcoat for the back but I am so excited to be thinking of reinstalling the engine?

Yup.. splashed her last summer... was like August so not a real long boating season but we definitely had fun with it.

My daughter is getting married on the local lake which I'm hoping to get her splashed by then, even just to test run things but alot to do before then. The weather up till now has been so uncooperative which you all with garages that fit your boat are soo lucky!

One thing I wanted to mention is that I extremely admire alot of your fiberglass work, I am certainly missing something when doing it but I know she is battleship solid. If I ever do this again I certainly will need to practice beforehand.

A little premature but since I'm working on getting more money together for more supplies I brought one of the cushions from the bow to see how it would clean up and I'm quite pleased with it considering it's 33 yrs old. The entire bow upholstery is great other than one cigarette burn but gets more worn as you head towards the stern and with its age is still awesome compared to others of the same vintage for sale.
I used Wesley's bleach white a couple of times.

Just a small update. I finished the flotation foam today and am planning on ordering the last of my resin this week and then fair it smooth and hope to start gelcoating in a few weeks.

Another noob mistake discovered! When I repaired under the consoles it splayed a bit so now I'm down to doing this before final adjustments on the windshield. To my defense though the shelves underneath were rotted so that didn't help I'm sure

Bow is all reinforced, I couldn't believe that there were stress cracks here!
Finally my glassing is looking like it should......transparent!

Really no cooperation from the weather last week and this upcoming week to do any glassing between the deluge of rain a couple of days ago and the up to 3 inches they're expecting starting this afternoon.
There has been this issue with the misaligned windshield that has annoyed me since day one but I finally figured out where the screws are!
You actually have to pull the glass partially out to pull the bottle seal and that's where they hid those blasted things so I just wanted to share my triumph .

Well I backed as much of her in the garage as I could with the rain but I have all the glass finished.
Ground out the cracks on the gelcoat for the transom and will be using the fairing putty on it and the floor today.
I hope to put the non-wax gelcoat on the bilge area today.

Will using the ratchet strap work to reduce the splay in the hull? Meaning, once things are glued/glassed back in, will it hold the less splayed shape? I have the same issue with my windshield, probably from mother nature removing most of the wooden supports before I acquired it. . My quick and dirty option is just to remove the center glass, but since I have the boat gutted, I'd like to try to get it right.

Pulling the hull helped some but the issue that created the biggest problem was that the shelves under the consoles had rotted and didn't realize it till after everything was set.
What I eventually did was get the windshield assembly straight as mush as I could by jacking them up and getting them plum from one side to another than I replaced the shelves and made supports to hold the windshield in place.
I did have to adjust them still but not near as much if I hadn't do the fore-mentioned things.
On my boat the pass through interior is what held the windshield in place and that had also become weak causing issues also.
