you may not have enough room for that. historically there is only an inch or two below the pan

most $20 remote kits are a simple 90 degree banjo fitting, a hose and a threaded plug for the hose. no valve, no adapters, only about 1/2" longer than the pan bolt

Hello all i am looking for input on fixing the gelcoat in the picture attached. I checked the thread in the stickies but the photos are gone. I intend to brush or roll the area to which I have styrene thinner already.
Thanks Jim

If you are going to sand it down anyways to address the cracking... I would consider throwing a layer of CSM on to make sure the surface is stabilized before fairing and gelcoating/painting

Thanks Scott I didn't realize they had kits for oil changes....I'll check measurements again before installing the engine and thanks for bringing up the possibility of clearance problems.

I'll see how the condition of gelcoat is Mad thanks for the tip.

Next week finally get back at it!

I totally agree! I forget how I came across this site but if wasn't for all of you my boat would be in the woods rotting away because I would have not known the tricks of the trade so to speak and the best thing is I have been able to help others from what I have learned here!

I was really hoping for an update, sad that you cannot work on her more this year. Keep up the good work though! Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Thanks BruceShark I spent like 3 months straight on her then well the honeydoo list got too large 😆.
I'll be using the downtime wisely though this winter by researching interior material and the striping it has so i can get her looking snazzy i hope lol. But I tell ya as soon as winters grip loosens here in Upstate NY I'll be back at it!

Upstate NY? I’m near Albany, using the Hudson River once I’m splashed again. Are you working outside then? I’m not looking forward to the cold this year with my project. Thankfully, I have a garage to work in.

Holy smokes! Hudson Falls here!
Mostly outside yes due to my garage being 3' too short!
I hate seeing her covered in snow :frown:

I will be using her in Lake George once I splash her there.

I think I see a trip to Lake George in my future once I’m splashed! Sorry about the garage shortness, I have a folding tongue on my trailer, I got the boat as far forward in the garage as I could yesterday with the tongue folded in, then measured off the back wall to the back of the boat. I have 7’ of clearance behind mine. It does fit with the tongue fully extended.

That's awesome! I measured and measured trying different things but no go unless I punch a hole in the back wall lol

I’ll be in upstate NY for some snowmobiling this year, around the Old Forge and Placid areas. Hoping for decent snows this year, last year was kinda sucky. But, way better there than south central PA where I am, lol.

caught up with your thread. That’s the same exact Bayliner a buddy of mine has, same motor and all. His has been rotting behind his house for a few years. Ha ha. Good luck, looking forward to the updates.

The motor and outdrive are still good. The rest is pretty nasty. It ran pretty decent and was fairly fast.

She's impatiently waiting 😊
Hopefully in a month I can start so she gets splashed sometime in July!

I found a boat exactly like mine for free with many great parts but rotted like mine was, my question is can anyone give me any examples of what it might cost to get rid of just the hull. 16' Bayliner capri.
