Be careful at the I 20 / I 65 interchange in down town Birmingham, they don't call it Malfunction Junction for nothing!

Once you get to the I 20 / I 59 split it'll be pretty smooth sailing to Chattanooga, but there is a long construction zone on the north side of Gadsden.

Smokey Bear will be everywhere!

There's also the really bad fog zone on the freeway from Chattanooga to Knoxville. When it's bad, it's really bad....

JB, the fog started before Chatanooga....we are stopping at the welcome area....not chancing it......don't see how these folks drive so fast through here....14.5 hours...we are spent...

If it's bad already, you wouldn't believe how much worse it would get in that valley ahead...

You'll know when you get there when you pass the huge fog warning alarm stations along the road. I think they even have gates that close & shut down the freeway when it gets bad enough...

Speed limits are treated like poor suggestions @ Knoxville freeways too....

Poor Jake...dog has been real good for the trip so far....wife couldn't take the fog...wanted to spend the night at the welcome center.....I finally talked her into going 1.7 miles down the road and getting a room...but Jake has to stay in the car...

The Ebko must have thought she was out on the water early this morning on the way up to Monroe....bow was a boucing just like she was breaking over someones wake...seems I never got around to tightening the bolt that holds the front rubber rest for the bow...so yup it fell out....and the bow bounced...right on the metal part that holds the rubber...minor damage...found another bolt/ nut in my small toolbox....glad I put it close to the door on the truck....will put a few pics up later....

Unexpected stop in good ole West Virginia.....had no idea we were cutting across WV on our way....Maryland next then PA....~4 hours of driving left.....taking a much needed mental refueling....will get back on the road soon...

I would not call it a honk and wave....but heading up the big hill into the Knoxville area this morning....saw a guy with Michigan plates look and tipped his hat....kinda looked like someone I've seen here on iboats....
