Troop it has snowed up here 2 days in a row get ready! Nice looking work as usual on the deck. Your thread is real by a guy with no experience but a determination of what he wants and what it takes to get it done.

Troy,
One of the greatest pleasures in my life has been getting to know you through this forum and our oh so brief conversations...

You have been an inspiration to all of us who have had the Honor to follow along this rather monumental task of restoring an old rotten boat, to a better than new craft that will reward you and your Family with many smiles of enjoyment and will have taught a lot of us here a great many lessons, especially your dogged determination and incredible work ethics!

Although we have never met in person, [although I am certain we will;)]...I feel like you are a part of my family, and as such, know that I will try my best to help in any way I can...

Here's to a stellar individual, God Bless you and yours in all you do...

Congratulations on a year of great accomplishments! And may your date with the wet stuff happen sooner than you expect...:D

Your friend & brother,
Gus

Congrats on making it through year 1.... You have shown a ton of determination on this build (and some great skills too)...

Thanks for sharing it with us... I have enjoyed getting to know you as well...And to the extent I have contributed in some small way, that's been a pleasure too...

I predict this vessel will be a floating beauty before the end of year 2.

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

From the pix that didn't load properly, it looks like as the deck terminates at the bow, the starboard side is a tad low:
DSCF0256.jpg

Using the chine line in the hull for reference, it looks like it pitches down a little as it runs under that vertical support of plywood.

Are the diagonals on that support the same length along the angle, the same distance down from the top edge and at the same angle on both sides? It looks almost perfectly symmetrical.

The deck, lid supports & the lids all look great!

If you can secure everything, I wouldn't worry about the how or the why uneven. Sitting in the fishing chair up front, it likely won't make any difference.:)

Ya JB, I figure I need the 1/4" anyway...I'll be bedding them in PB...along with the otrher supports...Once I have them figured out...

The angles...I just eyeballed them..doubt they are the same..

No worries, if it lists a little while sitting in the fishing chair while out on the water, just move the cooler to the other side...

That might work...but if the waves are rocking the boat, I'll never know if it is off a little :)

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

I agree with the above.... I would worry more about topside appearance relative to the gunwales/cap, because that's what you (and everyone else) will see. If its a little "cattywampus" at the main deck joint, it will be hidden under the platform and nice and strong once you pb and tab it in....

By the way, your hatches look so much better than mine (nice clean cuts)... Makes we want to redo mine, as they look like my 2 year old trying to color inside the lines...

You are learning...:D...

It's like I tell people when they look at some defect in the appearance of their automobiles..."Can you tell it's there from the driver's seat?" ...And... "At highway speeds no one will notice"...

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Update:

60 degrees at 9:00am this morning, working up to 78 for a high...perfect glassing weather...

I did the top in one piece...made a video, but it got interupted...and wasn't all that much to see really....and the camera shut off again...got to figure out why that is happening
DSCF0257.jpg

The underneath side I made a jigsaw puzzle...what a pain... but it came out good...tomorow will do the vertical surfaces....3/4" strips....that should be fun....

Did a small test on the transom to see how the plastic bags would work. I think it will work ok. Haven't had time for the boat this last weekend.

Your glass work is looking great as usual.
+1 with PMC.
