Glasswork looks great Troop ! If you are tabbing in the edges to the hull are you still needing to lay csm on the edge ?

Very Nice!:D

Thanks...I like it too..

Calculating the next move with precision.

Trying...that is one of my handicaps coming from a toolmaker's background...giving in to carpentar's tolerences..

...
Did a small test on the transom to see how the plastic bags would work. I think it will work ok. Haven't had time for the boat this last weekend.

Your glass work is looking great as usual.
+1 with PMC.

Good to know the bags will work, will help on acetone costs...I'm sure you will get to yours when you have time, I understand...

and Thanks!

Well carp.:faint:

I have access to 3 unwanted windshields, but only 1 has an operable center & it was missing when I got the boat (rip old glasser, thanks for your trailer) so I will be of no assistance....
:crutch:

I'll be here if you need any other: :help:

I tell ya....was the strangest thing...outside the boat on the ground...the 2 right pieces went to gether smooth as silk...in the boat they jammed up..to the point I took the rubber mallet and beat the carp out of it...then the glass broke...temper took over and the frame broke :noidea:...

maybe it was a subconsience move to get a new one?

I do still have the swinging part ond the left side...

I had the same problem w/ 1 that has 4 panels of glass, the channel slide apart real easy during boat demo. Slide it together to take a pix of it, no problem.

Then when I loaded up & went to a boat marina flea market, it just wouldn't go together for anything. Fought with it for 10 or 15min, walked away & tried again later, no problems

Sorry it broke, maybe boatnut's spare will fit..... I have at least 1 extra bubble wrap around, the missing the center panel 5 pc windshield & the 4 pc but nothing that would help.

Check the frame closely, it may have had set screws & anchors in the corner pcs that corroded &/or failed when the glass broke. Unless you split the frame, it may not be a total loss...

Jas cut, modified & hacked up his current SeaNymph's windshield and it turned out great! Not much left to loose trying to salvage it

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Last night as I was trying to get to sleep I went through an entire build of putting a center console on the boat...in my head of course...only problem is I would have to cut the deck open to get the cables over to the side....but hey I can do that and know how to fix it now....just a thought...

Small update....

Sanded the lid edges to give me room....then it warmed up enough to glass the vertical edges...cut some 3/4" strips of csm and put them on all the bottom side vertical points...

DSCF0259.jpg

After they cured...sanded the edges down and hit wood on some places....so...cut some 1/16" strips of csm, piled them up...wet the corneres down...used the brush to pick up some of the csm and worked it in on the corners...

DSCF0260.jpg

I'll get the lids done tomorrow....and if time permits get this mounted in the bow...

Hey Trooper, maybe Wood is on to something there. You have learned that you can do anything, and perhaps you are subconsciously fearing the boat repairs coming to an end. So you too the opportunity to create more work. :smash::victorious:

Just caught up on the last few pages of your thread. Congrats on the 1 year and the hatches/platform look great.

Center Console: Go for it! You've got 2 things: 1) a garage (soon), and 2) until spring. Get 'er done!

Sea ya...

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Got up early...went to Lowes for materials...took me almost 3 hours to make it home! Stopped by a trailer making place looking for parts to make the brakes work on mine...no dice...tried another place he sent me to....fouind a guy that works on boats/motors for a living...he tried to sell me his business....He may have a trim pump unit that he said he could sell me....waiting to hear back from him...

I did get the large sides of the lids glassed..drank a frosy while waiting for them to cure..
DSCF0261.jpg

Cleaned them up did a test fit...ran out of time to get the edges done...still need to do the edges inside the lid holes as well.... always tomorrow...
