Re: 1983 Deck Boat Transom/deck/stringer replacement Help
I tried to take advantage of the warmer days we've been having here in TX. A few days hit 70..
I was able to get the last roller on and all the bunks in place..
Put some plastic around the hull to help protect it..
Used the DA with 80 grit and scuffed up the buldheads and the port and starboard rails and the fuel cell..
Put some 3m 5200 around the raceway where in penetrated the bulkheads..
Bought 5 pieces of 2x6x8' and rounded all four corners with the router and 1/2" round over bit..
Heated the resin with a couple of halogen lights.. This took some time but it did work..
Put one layer of 1.5 csm over all 5 pieces of 2x6..
The 2x6 will be cut to fit between the bulkheads on the starboard and port sides.. Will use screws to mount them in place and then
fiberglass over them and all of the top 2x2's on the bulkheads.. Will have to wait for another warm day to do the glass work..
Hope everyone is having a good weekend..
Really feel sorry for you up north.. That is some terrible weather your having..
