Hey Pat, thanks for sticking with me! We are at the final push here:rockon:

I think I may try to get the surgery scheduled for late April or early may so I can get about 6 weeks of healing time behind me before the start of summer. Hopefully I can be fairly mobile in that time frame.

Good idea on the surgery. Hope it all works itself out. Nothing worse than constant pain. Especially in a joint that you use every waking hour. Those fiberglass skis were just exacting revenge for thumper and all the rest. You shouldn't leave them in the garage were they see all. Lol. Best of luck with the surgery.

Hey, thanks for swinging through budski! Ir'll be really cool when I can actually use all this stuff eh!

OK, here's a few shots of my lighting...

Gauges and the 12V/lighter/map light...

Then I strung LED's all the way around under the gunwales, under the consoles and in the engine bay. Theses will be perfect for prepping the boat early in the morning or an evening float with the family...

You can kinda see my nav lights and that back deck courtesy light in there too, eh.

Cheers fellas:smile-new:

As usual top notch work and attention to detail but I gotta ask,

When you gonna cut that seat box out so you got a place to sit?

Hiya fellas! Yah that lighting takes this old Islander up just a notch, I'm liken it:thumb:

Hey now, listen, you boys gotta trust me. The seating in this boat is and will be comfortable, really......I may have pretended to be driving around in this thing on a sunny summer day, it's nice. I'll take ya for a ride later so you can check it out:cool-new::cool-new::cool-new:

:croc:

So yah, I did get my guide on's modified along with some new matching blue pads and bolted em up...

Hey Jas - all that nice, I mean really nice lookin' stuff and a horse blanket for the motor. LOL

It seems replacing the blanket is just about the final step. You must be getting close to launch time for the Bowlander.

Wah? Seriously man? Aw poop, I thought sure that would be the new cool thing, flexible dog house ya know?:becky:

Yah, my list isn't all that long actually, hmmmmm........lemme think for just a minute here....

In no particular order and probably not a complete list...

Build and install doghouse
Install seat pedestals and seats
Install grab handle on passenger console
Build and carpet glove box bottom
Mount transducer and speedo pickup
Install fire extinguisher and other safety gear stuff
Install hatch latches
Deck paint
Clean up stern corner caps and install
Finish up the bow cockpit plate
Install horn
Install trim alum along the "shelves"
Clean up and touch up the "pros" paint work
Install the brand spanken new SEI drive (yup, it's here in the shop:thumb:)
Stick on the variety of decals, MC numbers, badges, capacity plate, n' such

Fuel.....

Engine fire on muffs.....

Be sure to put in the plug....

SEA TRIAL!!!!

....and then a few things that I'd like to do but not critical to getting this boat floating....

Build and install swim platform
Snap in carpet
4 upholstered seat cushions, 2 for the seat boxes and 2 for each side of the dog house

So yah, not too bad of a list. If I weren't so busy, and two good working legs, maybe a couple of long weekends worth really. But, since I'm old and broken, prolly two months:facepalm::rolleyes::crutch:

Ayuh,.... I just see a thread where the topic is usin' fleece as a bulk/ filler with fiberglass,....

That movin' quilt oughta hold nearly a gallon of resin,.... :D

Well, a local guy rammed his Fisher into a dock, bent it beyond repair and was scrapping it out. And wouldn't you know it, he had a beautiful Taylor Made Curve windshield, for cheap!!!

That windshield looks great. I just realized the windshield that I bought last year for $80 looks exactly the same as yours. Mine came off a 16' Fisher that was scrapped and hopefully it will find its way onto the Jupiter later this year.

Thanks fellas, and yah, that batts are in! Well, for the most part anyway. I was going to use battery boxes but they won't fit comfortably in the port side seat box, too tight. I can't seem to find a batt tray anywhere that will fit my batt so I think I need some sort of universal hold down clamp or something. Meh, I'll get it figured.

All right, baby steps, couple things done today - installed a grab handle on the port console and built out and installed the bottom to the glove box...

You can see I ran my LED string up and through the box too so I can see my stuff in there pre dawn.

Yah, it's off center on purpose. I like that spot there.

Um, yah maybe a lil premature on the sunscreen in there, it was about 26 degrees when I snapped that photo:facepalm:

Man, it's so hard to get anything done with my jacked up knee, so slow. Oh well, if I can just get a few things done here and there eventually I should run out of things to to build someday!:thumb:

Hey I like that, cavernous storage possibilities, a guy could even make tackle trays fit in there with the sun screen. :thumb:

it was 26 there this morning? It got down to 58 here last night and now it's 80 again today but the wind hasn't let up all day.

Hi Guys! Made a few baby steps towards getting this boat on the water.

A long time ago I salvaged these swim platform brackets from a nasty glasser. They were really dirty and oxidized...
20160411_053402.jpg

I took em into school and one of my students got them all cleaned up in the parts blaster, very nice...
20160415_045012.jpg

I also picked up and installed some new gear. Here's the new onboard dual battery charger, installed under the port side console...
20160417_184053.jpg

...and then under/in the port side seat box is a big deep cell batt and a big starting batt hooked up to an ACR system:thumb:

I also found a good deal on a new ICOM VHF w/ GPS...
20160417_184325.jpg

I'm not particularly happy with the location there so I may do some fine tuning yet.

Plus a new 8' antenna...
20160417_184223.jpg

I'll need to get it out of the garage to be sure this is a good mount here.

AOK, that's all for now, cheers guys:becky:

What do you plan on for a ladder? When a guy gets some years behind him it's tough to mount a platform.

I need to look into one of those battery chargers, was this one a bottom feeder acquisition or did you do some research on it?
