Howdy Bill, miss you too man! I do hope you'll keep an eye on me as I make my way towards getting this Merc ready for the water. So far I "think" I have everything where it should be we'll know a lot more in a month or two! Cheers ol friend!

GA! Yah, paint is pretty good, meh, for the most part. He gave me a good deal to start and he's going to give me a deep discount off of that too.

Hang tight, I'll hit ya with some more updates:becky:

I have no idea what he painted it with, I'll need to find out though as I have some touch up work to do:hopelessness:

That hull should make a great salt water hull.

Great to see you are still battling to completion.

AOK, so, got some clean up work done. So here's what the bow looks like at the moment...

So you can see I got the cockpit combing pads and back pads installed up there. That whole space up there is really spacious and super comfortable. I can fit all kinds of friends and family up there for a day of boating.:encouragement:

You can also see I installed some bow cleats and a super awesome stainless bow rail. I don't recall which glasser had to die for that bow rail, but it's perfect for this ol Islander!:boink:

I also got the bottom panels in the big rod holder hatch carpeted. All the structure is done up there, so, I just need to get those two white pieces painted up, hatch cover installed, then all the cushions in place and that bow area should be about good to go! Oh yah, I'm going to finish off the very front with a nice piece of mahogany or something (in between the two cockpit pads).

OK, so, I'm really pumped about this post!!!

I think most of you guys might not recall but I searched forever, far and wide for a curved windshield. Forever! I did find a couple but at $1200 there was no way. I finally gave up and bought a really nice straight/square windshield that would work.

Well, a local guy rammed his Fisher into a dock, bent it beyond repair and was scrapping it out. And wouldn't you know it, he had a beautiful Taylor Made Curve windshield, for cheap!!!

I took my time installing that, very tricky, but it's perfect, fits this boat great!!!

Could not be happier with that windshield:becky:

Yah it's really tight in the garage so it's tough to get a nice wide shot. Next time it comes out I'll snap some profile shots.

I'm so glad I found that curved glass though, it really makes the project:becky:

When I was negotiating with the guy on it it was hard to keep a straight face:excitement:

I'm really surprised Bondo didn't recommend that after all this time you replace your bellows.

Good to see the 'Bowlander' is back, now how about the 'TinTannic'? :D

Has that thing even hit the water yet (while in your possession)?

That windshield looks like it came on that boat, great find!

I even like the paint job!
