So yah, I do have high hopes for the summer:becky:

I hope you run of fish fry batter. :D Can't go wrong with batter mix called Shore Lunch.

Nope, no brakes on that trailer. No need really. If she were a big over weight tubby soggy saturated 22' glasser I'd run em. But she'll be light and dry:joyous:

Very small note of progress - side panels and seat boxes got the first top coat this morning. Just keeping the blades turning here...

Hmmm... Not telling another man how to stock his pantry, but the fishing gods may not look with favor on such presumptiveness.. Sort of like wearing the "fighting belt" on an offshore rig (you will never get bit with that thing on)... Just lookin' out for ya buddy... There may be a reason you only caught 1 fish over MD weekend (that, and the full moon of course) and why both of your fishing partners got mysteriously hypnotized with a catatonic sleeping spell...

Things to consider...

Just sayin'

P.S. I like the Cajun.

ping. Ping. PING... I'm not seeing any progress, maybe there's something wrong with my Internets? I keep hitting refresh but no pictures or updates, is anyone else having the same problem I am?

Ah man do I wish that were true!

Nah, last week of school, way uber busy to get the year wrapped up! No real boat building minutes lately, sorry guys.

Next week I should be able to come up for air again.

Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

Hey TX, great to see ya again!

-------------------------------------------------

All right, schools out!:thumb::

I have a couple of major home projects I'm wrapping up at the moment but I'll start picking away at this Islander again pretty quick.

Hey, check it out, I think I may divert a little on deck coating. My standard has been sand in the epoxy and then Rustoleum. Cheap and easy. I have 3 complaints about the Rusto though. #1 The gloss finish makes the deck just a little slick when wet, even with the sand in the finish. #2 The gloss finish also makes a pretty uncomfortable glare when the sun is out. #3 That gloss finish also makes the deck kinda hot on the bare feet on those hot sunny days.

Course, I can't fault the Rusto, it was certainly not made for the way I was using it ya know.

When I was in Home Depot yesterday picking up house paint I saw this stuff and it definitely got me interested...

It's got a matt finish, has some texture to it and I do believe I can match the Rusto Light Machine Grey color I used on other parts of the boat.

It's obviously designed for decks, so abuse, sun, water certainly shouldn't be an issue. I think if I use a real thick nap roller that should give me just a little more texture too.

I do believe I'll give this stuff a shot. Whatcha guys think, any objections?

Ayuh,... I've been seein' the ads for that stuff, haven't gone over, 'n picked up a can of it to read yet though,...

My take on it is,.... It's another product comin' outa the pickup bedliner chemical stuff,..

Aka: another bedliner type a product,...

I'm seriously considering doing my actual house deck with the stuff.

Is that the Behr equivalent of Restore (is that right?) That someone used on their SeaNymph? Waterman maybe? He seems really happy w it so far....

Yeah, Watermann used the Rustoleum version (Restore) on his Sea Nymph... It turned our really cool. I think its more "granular" (almost like concrete, when cured) than the Behr product.
