Hey fellas, I know dealing with your jealousy issues must be tough. Try to stay strong though. You just have to realize that my artistic skillz are saaaaweeeet and move on:afro:

Jason - I sense a little defensiveness in your tone and that you might be down on yourself because of your lower elementary drawing skills... Due to your "critical inner voice," I think you could use a little session with Stuart Smalley, the famed self-esteem counselor from Saturday Night Live (see below)... If he can help Michael Jordan with his confidence, he can help you to. Don't beat yourself up buddy; you are good, smart and people like you:

Nice progress Jas. I see you're making lots of new friends too. Carry on my artistically blessed TinBro. I like the paint scheme on the Offshore for the record. Trailer name rocks, I didn't know you could name trailers!

Glad to see your getting something done on the old girl between fishing trips. She's probably feeling a little neglected and un wanted.

Man.. that pic makes the boat looks JI-FRIGIN-NORMUS

Well, Jason has lust in his heart for a 25 or 26 footer. So during all the down time working on other boats, he secretly threw in a stretch kit. She is really a 25 1/5 foot Islander now but he's still saying 22' because he doesn't know how to change the thread title.

Just call Jason the oops of Tin. :D

Hope you're having a good holiday, J. :)

Hey the primed interior is a nice touch. Looks complete,:D. I have a feeling my little project might see your timeline. Anyway, the islander is looking great. By the way I love the art work, is better then my attempt at it

Hey fellas, thanks for sticking with me here!

Well, Jason has lust in his heart for a 25 or 26 footer.

Yes I do:embarassed:

Man.. that pic makes the boat looks JI-FRIGIN-NORMUS

You Spray that or Daniel-Son that?

Yup, plenty o' room to wander around eh!

Well, all the vertical surfaces and seat boxes were sprayed. The deck got the brush and roller:thumb:

OK fellas, so, after the Memorial Weekend trip my garage is completely trashed with boat gear, camping gear and fishing gear. It's going to take me a few days to recover so the paint progress will need to be on hold for a sec.

In the meantime, I figured I'd turn my attention to the trailer. I want this Islander to be sitting on this trailer before I start painting the hull. Last thing I want to so is muck up the paint work lifting her back on her ride.

So, first up, bearings repacked yesterday, all set there, excellent.

Next, I wanted to get an exact weight on this thing. The Sec of State allowed me ballpark it to expedite the registration process. Awfully nice of her.

We were kicking around the legitimate weight of our boats over on the Starcraft forum a little while ago so I'd like to get the actual weight of this Islander once she is all put back together. So, I pulled her over the scales at my local stone yard...

I estimated 1,110# and she came in at a svelte...

From here I need to get that thing washed up (very dirty from sitting so long, embarrassed) and replace the safety chain links, bow eye safety chain, bow stop, winch, and guide on's (all stolen to complete "other" boat projects:becky:)

Note to self, let's add, oh, maybe an extra 10# for that stuff ^^^ making the trailer an even 1,050#.

It's funny you just registered your trailer...here I am right now waiting at the Sec. Of State doing the same for my tandem. Went across the scales on the way here, trailer was #1000 exactly w/o winch post, Excursion was #7400 and me #250 (sheesh, got to do something about that) LOL. I got the rest if the week off to work on my boat!!!

It will be interesting to find the total weight of the rig, Jas. You can use the Admiralty bathroom scale to get the missing bits for the trailer he want to be exacting. Although the missing parts won't come in anywhere near the first big fish outing total. :)

Wow! I am genuinely surprised at the weight of your trailer! I just wouldn't have guessed that it would weight in at 1050 lbs....Looks great in the pics --- even if you say it looks dirty!

Glad to hear you want to get the ole girl on splashed by summer(ish)!!!

J.
