I wish this was following factory. It was repaired once and they did a horrible job. So not sure about placement. The hole for the boot is offset 1" port and that is original. So Considering I don't have an original reference just center drive in hole?

actually my mistake it was 1" to port on mine as well , wonder if its to offset a single drivers weight?

Don't know anything about a slight shift to one side or the other, but the transom assembly sets the angle. The transom should be flat to within 1/16 on outer hull, and 1/8 with inner hull. Thickness between 2 and 2.25 inch

Once transom assembly is bolted up, the front mounts are located based on the rear transom plate

yeah , but like i say my wellcraft was shifted 1" portside stringers and all ...

And with this boat it's a omc stringer so there is no "keyhole" the motor sits on 4 mounts and the whole leg is supported by the motor. The only thing the transom does on this boat is keep water out and a place to attach this big rubber boot. The hole in the transom could be any thickness or taper and would not matter as long as the boot is sealed to outside transom glass.

Motor mounts are glassed in and ready to mount engine.
question? Best way to attach.
1.drill hole right size for lag bolt,attach and remove then fill hole with cpes.
2. Drill hole oversized - bigger at the bottom, sink waxed lag into wet epoxy and glass blend. Remove and mount motor.
what's best and did I miss a better way?

My self I made a tiny pilot hole just enough to get the tip of the bolt started. Once they were in. I took them out Mixed some resin and poured in the hole. Then put the bolt back in to tighten. Seal the puppy some.

PROGRESS! transom / motor mount stringers / 1st bulkhead. Other than some more tabbing which I plan to do all at once I have got my first section In. Note my new favorite tool. Turbo heater. Raised temp from 50 to 90 in just a few minutes and had to throttle it down

Well life happened and got backed up on side work..(makin hot rods :car. Finally got back on boat! I had 4 gallons of resin that I thought I lost due to age. Opened bucket up and it looked good with hardly any crystals or cured nuggets. Mixed it up real good and did a test patch. Cured good. Got lucky. It was stored cold (not frozen) and was good quality resin. (Compsite one). Now to use it up fast:bolt:

Yes the turbo heater makes a big dif.!! 30 outside to 85 in minutes. I've been using again last couple of weeks, Used in the dead of past winters also with no issues.

Out laying some glass this mid morning and everything I was touching seemed hot so I checked temp. Only 103. 10 more degrees til summer! T-shirt, Levi's and tyvex and couldn't tell how hot it was except for everything else was hot. And that was the end of work til tonight

Update time. Got all the deck substructure in. I still have a little bit of tabbing to do plus the fuel tank stuff. All stringers are marine grade 3/4 ply covered in 2 Oz csm before buttering them In.there is some dimensional lumber in it too. Plus the cleats. All structure is tabbed in with a minimum of 1.5 oz csm and 2 layers of 1708. Some spots are 7 layers of 1708 thick, 8" and 12" wide. All corners are tabbed on 3 separate axis on inside and out. Used about 17.5 gallons resin on transom and stringers.

Still need to dial in all the gaps and grind the hull around the deck but o do my crappy knees love a flat surface
