Today i got the engine installed and placed all the wood that i painted in place.

Also the shelve at the rear port interfered with the steering linkage so had to cut a whole to allow it to move full travel.

I also got the bilge pump mount made and mounted today. The whole process took way too long to get done. The bilge pump mounts on the two lower carriage bolts for the sterndrive. there is enough extra thread to make a bracket out of 1/4" aluminum plate and then used some stainless acorn nuts.

Got a question lets see if anyone has the answer. Just curious if anyone knows what my boat cost when it was new?

Finished the new mount for the trim motor. Its made from two 7/16" aluminim plate that was welded together. Had to relocate the trim motor so that i would have room to place the rear door where i wanted it.

I had to take the engine back out because I forgot to put the trim hoses on the transom plate before i put the engine in. So i figured I would take one more pic of the bilge pump mount in postion. Yes, I am a little proud of it.

Re: 1973 18' starcraft starchief V

well its been a while since my last post. Well I have most of the wiring and plumbing done. Got a couple of pics of the wiring routing, the Dual battery isolation switch, the plumbing for the gas tank. If everything goes well I should have it in the water by this weekend for a shake down cruse.

Looks good. Very organized. My only suggestion would be add some sort of protection where the wires pass through any aluminum cutouts. I think Jason just posted something along those lines in his Islander thread.

I found my trim for holes like that at my local auto parts store. In my area its Napa. Its a black reinforced rubberized U profile that you can buy by the foot.

Lookin good Briggs!

Got a couple pics for you guys. One is of the front hinge on the seat in front of the engine box. The next one is of the hose routing. then there is a preview of how the gas fill will look.

Re: 1973 18' starcraft starchief V

Well I started it up today and ran it for a good 20 mins and everything went well. so if tomorrow the weather is decent then I'll put it in the water and do the first shake down run.
