Let me tell you somethun LL, If you were doing this in the spring or the fall, with temps in the 50's and 60's and with GOOD LIGHTNING, you would have knocked it out in Half the time with NO PROBLEMS. You overcame a LOT and still made her look like a NEW boat. Trust me, I have seen much much worse. Your attention to detail, and Not willing to give in to the issues, have given you a boat to be proud of. When you hit the dock, and EVERYONE comes up and says, "Where did you get the Cool Looking Old Boat" and you can say "I restored Her!" all of this hard work will be well worth it.

Well Done, My Friend!!! Well Done!!!

Thanks, I think there should be more red boats in the world and I'm just doing my part.

BTW, I know this isn't the greatest picture for this question - but I'm not pulling it out again now! Do you think I have the trailer set up about right? Or should I post it over on the trailers & towing section?

You talking about this beauty? Sorry I couldn't resist, that thing is just so pretty and clean:D

You've done a fine job on your mission to populate waterways with red boats, glad the paint turned out so well for you.:)

This will be a good resource for the rest of us to refer to as well.

That is one nice RED.

I really like yours too, bananaboater. It partly inspired me to keep mine a shade of red.

Yup that's the one, but I like this picture better:

I hope it starts & runs OK after sitting for 2 years! I did fog it best I could without running it.

All I hope is that when this is done, somebody else who knew as little as I did when I started out can be guided a little by all my follies & "A-HA" moments that will make theirs a little easier. I was inspired to do this project by seeing what all the other folks on here have done.

That is a nice looking motor :D! I'm sure it will run after being dormant 2 years. I did nothing to mine last November, and it started up faster than it had started up all last season.

Paint also still looks great, even with the little roller marks in that spot. At least you didn't miss a huge area like I did spraying...

Looks like the boat could slide back to get the whole bunk in contact with the hull. I'd leave it for now and balance when everything is installed. Most boat yards around here with set them up for 75 lbs. then adjust for towing issues from there.

Re: 1964 15' Starcraft Aluminum Runabout Project & more pics

Thanks, MichaelP. I just put the bunks on recently and left them a little long because I wanted to make sure my mreasurements were OK. I'll be tweaking it later as necessary. How do you check the 75 lbs. you mention (I assume you're tlaking tongue weight?). I've got to do more research into that when I get the motor on and it's at its full weight.
