I got home from my visit with Judge. All I can say guys is...He's better than his pics!!!!! WOW!!! The Pro Machines are totally different from the HOME Style machines. You can go so fast it's scary!!!! He has come a long way since his SINGER days, and he REALLY knows his stuff. I Learned soooooo much. Oh yeah, we did get the VW Bus seats done...Whatcha think of em??

Awesome, I wondered w/ that gray if the shot of you at Judge's was you working on VW seats.

Great looking. I'm sure he enjoyed your stay. Good to see his business taking off so well. Right outta the gate, busy as hell... Can't get any better then that...........

Those seats came out better than whipped cream on blueberry pancakes smothered in maple syrup with a slab of bacon on the side...:eyebrows:

Very nice!:encouragement:

So Judge didn't charge you double his normal rate just to let you play with his toys did he? Pics or it didn't happen Woody!

I arrived at JD's Upholstery shop on Thursday. He was exactly as I had Imagined. A Great Guy!!

W began to disassemble the seats and by no surprised discovered the 48 yr old seat springs were pretty much SHOT!!!!

Soooo... decision was made to discard them and start from scratch.

JD started his magic by creating the Drivers side seat base from High Density foam with a 2" topper of medium density.
He pinched the edges to form the rounded feature.

Yeah JD, It's looking Pretty Darn Good!!!

IMG-20130118-00231.jpg

One of the Main Reasons for the trip/visit was to get Pleats sewn for the seat covers. My Morse machine was not going to cut it to get the look I wanted. JD graciously offered to sew them for me. Couldn't pass up the offer.
He's starting the pleating here..

He then stated he was tired and said I needed to pitch in and help. Not afraid to admit it my knees were shaking a bit since I had never been on a REAL Sewing machine. I'm tellin ya, it is a bit intimidating. Of course he HAD to turn the machine on WOT and I just about wet myself when I hit the peddle and it went 1,000,000 RPM!!!!! I think he's still laughing!!!!
IMG-20130118-00230.jpg

Lines are NOT perfect but Hey I'm old and shaky!!!!
IMG-20130118-00236.jpg

We needed Piping for the Seats sooo. JD jumped up on the table with his Electric Scissors and his custom "V" groove in the table that has a 1 1/2" mark on it for the piping cut and voila' We had the piping strips, 400% faster than I can do it at home.

Re: 1961 Lonestar "Flamingo" - I finally Started w/pics

Then the BORING stuff started, cutting out patterns for the boxing etc. No pics of that. JD then started putting it all together.
IMG-20130119-00241.jpg

He/We sewed SewFoam to All the pieces to give it a smooth look. This turned out GREAT!!! Nice touch JD!!!

After all the pieces were sewn together, it was time to start the Strteching, Tugging, and Pulling.
