In my Never Ending Quest for Boat Repair answers to questions, I found this extremely informative article and site. I KNOW it enlightened me and I KNOW it will anyone that reads it. It confirms a LOT of what Yacht Dr. and the other pro's have posted on the forum for years. I highly recommend everyone take the time to read and Re-Read this.

Woody:
Happy New Year to 'ya... Saw this Big Ol' Vintage Lone Star and I thought of you...

1952 lone star one of a kind

Best of all, it appears to be a tinny... Its a bit overpriced, IMO, but a pretty cool boat... Maybe you should take a run at it?

Won't matter, It'll get ripped out, Unless he's got pics OR a real convincing speech on how he did the work. I'm gunna turn it into a Woodie!!! Should have LOTS of parts for sale after to top comes off. I won't need ANY of the top cap, Just the hull. That's where I got my handle. WoodOnGlass. Take a Glass Hull and Put a Wood Cap on it. My first boat was a 14' 1956 Crosby that had a glass hull and wood top. Always wanted to try and make a Bigger boat that way. Some v-Hulls just don't lend themselves to do that but this 18 foot Outboard hull is PERFECT!!!! Don't want an inboard. The Old Merc don't hurt either. Hope I LIVE long enough to "Git er Dun!!!!" If I buy that boat and haul it home my wife will prolly KILL ME!!!!:lol:

Rule of Life #1: It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Bring it home....

....and repaint it.

Hope it works out.

IMHO, everybody should own a Mercury inline six at least once in their life. Good luck!

Good luck hiding that behind the garage

If it makes it back to your boathouse, the Admiral's anniversary gift, next year (year or 2 after as well), just got more expensive

So, maybe you ought to call, see if you can schedule a viewing, perhaps, just to lay your hands on it, see if your really interested

Best of luck my friend, no matter which way this new wrinkle turns out.

For now, I'll be over here, waiting peacefully :tape:
