Re: 1961 Lonestar Flamingo - SPLASHED w/Pics

Thank you Wood. If I can be of some help, please let me know. I know much more about bow hunting and shed antler hunting than I care to confess right now :)

Hopefully that housing comes in and it's correct but I sense that you have a "be prepared for the worst, expect the best" attitude towards things.

Btw.. my heart felt for you when I read about your daughter, grandson, wife and mom. The video your boy put together was priceless. The ten plus pages of "life" that kept you from splashing BF when you were ready to go were full of suspense.

Happy to have found your thread and will try to keep my journal up to date, I believe all are going to like the end result.

New WaterPump Arrived today...

!B8tViDQCGk~$(KGrHqIOKp!Ey+jC)vD2BM30W+1cFw~~_35.JPG

and as usual Gus was correct..It does come with a metal cup/insert. I did discover that the Plastic Housing I bought would in fact have worked IF I could have figured out where to buy the metal cup/insert and the rubber seal. I will continue to investigate that for future needs. I also received the paper work from Corjen1 and my Jayhawker Motor is now Officially registered in Oklahoma and a New Title has been applied for. I'm glad to have that taken care of. Costs was under $20 bucks for title and registration till June. In June I can get a 3 yr registration for $17 bucks . My "Trigger Thumb" has flared back up on me and I had to go to the DR. today for another injection and MAN that is NO FUN.
!!!
I'm takin the night off but will try and go out to te shop tomorrow night and get the water pump installed and the lower unit put in primer prior to re-install. This Weekend so far is totally scheduled for motor prep and paint so we'll see how it goes. That's it from Okie Land.

Hope everyone survived HUMP DAY!!!!

Awww heck, just read about the other ebay pump housing not being what it should have been...anyhooo, you could prolly re-list it on ebay and sell it off to recoup some of the cash...
Can't wait to see the progress on the engine...
Oh and congrats on gettin it all legal and what not...
Hope the thumb gets better, FAST!
Happy Friday, my good sir!:D

That IS the plan. Tuesday AFTER the Holiday. I am taking the entire week off AFTER the Holiday so...If I can get the Motor done and Mounted and everything hooked up and working...I'll be on the water. We shall see.

Hmmm, since I've never lived in Okie land, then how come I too think like a dumb old okie?

Sounds like a great plan

Oh carp, wood...we must be more kindred spirits than I once thought. My trigger thumb too has flared up. It's not clicking but I have a lot of pain when I try to use that opposable digit in a squeeze fashion. I was trying to pull off a foil covering of some barbq sauce from a fast food place the other day & it hurt so bad I thought I'd pass out. Think I'll be heading back to the dr too! Don't our tendons know we NEED to splash???? & soon???? I'm hoping relief for you soon!!

I got her all in White but just had to put some "Blue Flamingo" on her. Paint is still "Green" so will let her cure for a week and then put the decals on. I'm Likin it!!! Think she'll look Great Mounted on the BF. I'll try and get her running again with muffs one evening this week. I'll try and make a video of that event!!! Keep my Mom in your thoughts and prayers. She's 93 and had a fall and broke her Tail Bone. She's starting to suffer from demensia as well so she's scared, confused and in pain. I'm not dealing with it very well but working on the motor helps keep my mind occupied at times. Hope everyone had a productive week!!!
