The smaller 18-35hp and the 40-60hp 2cylinder engines have been using them for years. never seen a problem with cracked housings on the ones I've worked on.

Yeah, on this particular type, my investigation has revealed...reinforced screw sleeves and no steel impeller sleeve required AND I scored a brand new one for under $10 bucks!!!! SWEET!!!!!!

It might even get better. Seller did NOT know what this thing was. He has TWO of them Selling for 5 Bucks each plus $3.19 shipping. He would not sell both at once and ship both together!!! Not sure why so I contacted him and told him I wanted the other one too! Have not heard from him yet

Removed the 1976 Bicentennial Stickers and Factory Decals and Got the first two coats of Primer on today. I also attempted to convert her from a Jayhawk motor to an Okie motor only to find that I need to have the Original BOS and NOT a PDF Emailed one so am waiting on CORJEN1 to SnailMail me the Original BOS with his John Henry and the Notary Public Stamp so the DMV will Issue me an Oklahoma Title. That took about 3 hours just to be told to go home!!!

Here's the pics of the Motor Cowling.

Primered

You have to title an outboard in OK? Lucky us in NY, no motor titles. Sometimes digging info out of the DMV is a matter of hitting the right person who knows what they are talking about. If you're that lucky, it can save you a lot of time. Our NY DMV has a pretty good website, how's OK's? Best to go to DMV armed with knowledge! I have heard DMV horror stories however!

Looks good on the primer, the weather smiled on you. Good score on the pump housing too (bottom feeder!!) :):):)

Raked over the coals on the gasket but made up for it on the pump housing .. I guess it all evens it's self out in the end .. :)
Wow registration for boat, motor, and trailer ! They get ya coming and going ! And if our leader has his way you'll prolly have to go through a toll to get to the lake .
Nice work on the primer ! Looking forward to some finish paint !

I got the $10 buck WaterPump housing today and wouldn't you know it. It's NOT the right one. LOOKs the same on top but when you flip it over...It's not. I Did find the right one, after a Lot of searching and ordered it today. $60 bucks sooo... a few more days and I can get her back together. No progress on the Motor due to B'day Parties and Mothers day. Maybe some evening work this week to get some color on the cowling.

Primer looks great..
You or required to have a title on all outboards in Texas.. But not on inboards.. How does that work.. If your trailer can carry over 4500#'s you have to have a title for it also.

I went to check on my trailer for the StarCraft and the lady told me no numbers no help.. My stickers on the side of the trailer or so faded you can't read them.. OH WELL!! Hello home built trailer..

Have a great week Wood..

Wow Wood. I can't confess publicly how much time I took to read through this :)

You've gone through one Heck of a roller coaster. Got me thinking..
