Wood,

I'm glad things are getting better for your family and you still find time to post here. Life is about balance and when we don't have it, it can be very taxing IMO. The outboard looks great, I hope she pushes the Flamingo alone well for you. But a pair or 35's would also have looked good on her back end too.!

I've always had my eye out for "Twins" but it's soooo hard to find em!!! I've always been Envious of you and Yours. I can't wait to see her all spiffed out and Splashed. I sure wish you'd hurry up and "Git Er Dun!!!!"

Glad to hear you Mom is doing better. Dealing with a parent's dementia is rough, like saying goodbye a little bit every time...I went through that with my father.

The 85 is looking great, look forward to seeing it on the BF, hope that's coming soon and you can get out on the water for some pics & video! Those new decals are sharp!!

The Heat Index was about 100° today but I managed to get the 85 Johnson Mounted on the "BF". Man I'm getting OLD....R!!! Had to get her out of her winter Clothes and she WAS dusty!!! then I had to take off the " 40 Rude". and remove the Controls and disengage all the wiring. Then I had to Move the boat to the Motor and the Boat to the driveway so I could hang the motor from the Garage Header and back the boat under it to drop it down temporarily to mark it for drilling. Hoisted her back up then drilled the holes. and used 10 min epoxy to coat em. Then dropped her back down, coated the bolts with 4200 and tightened her down with 1/2" Stainless bolts. It all went without a hitch...well there was one. The extra weight of the 85 will necessitate me moving the axle of the trailer back about a foot. I only have about 5lbs of weight on the trailer tongue now!!!! All this took me 6 hours!!! Like I said I'm gettin OLD'r and Slower!!! Tomorrow I plan on getting the controls hooked up and Finally firing her up on the boat. I also did take an hour to got get some stuff and fill the tank up with fresh 100% gasoline and 50:1 oil. so I guess I only worked 5 hours. The heat and humidity were brutal and I'm BEAT!!!! Guess I shoulda drank more WATER!!!

Here's the pics to prove I DID get something done.

Looking at Your boat is like walking into the showroom in 1961 . If I never said it you do some really awesome work . And I don't think 6 hours is bad at all

Guess I shoulda drank more WATER!!! I rebuilt the carbs and the waterpump. Bought New 13' throttle and shift cables, cleaned and services the controller, Replaced all the rubber fuel and vacuum lines on the motor, serviced the lower unit and bought a new Teleflex rotary Steering system. If this thing doesn't fire up and run like a new one after all of this...I'm gunna use that fresh tank of gas to douse her down and fire her up and have a Weiny Roast!!!!:D

Here's the pics to prove I DID get something done.

I kinda Think you'd Blow by me like I was a Floating Baby Ruth, If you get my Drift!!!!:D Besides, I don't even KNOW if it runs yet. I might have screwed it totally up!!! I never claimed to be no Mek-A-Nek!!!

Wow! The BF looks AMAZING!!! with the freshly done up powerplant hanging on its tail...
I absolutely can not wait to see and hear the fabulous noises and moves this pretty bird is going to make when it finally gets its feathers wet...
CONGRATULATIONS on the job of engine swapping...you may be OLD'r and SLOW'r but you still got the right moves!
Best to your Mom, always in our prayers...

PS- after staring at the pics of the BF with its new tail for what seemed like an hour, I could only think of one itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny detail that would make the two components look like they were put together just like that, originally from a dealer showroom...
And you know me by now, I can never leave well enough alone so I took the liberty of playing around with the pic of the BF in Paint...
I know it may not actually fit the whole scheme of things, but a two-tone pinstripe that matches a couple of the darker blues on the engine decals, run along the Flamingo blue of the cap or along the waterline...hmmm, I don't know, maybe???

Way to go Woody! She looks purty. Don't know why it always takes longer than what you think it should, but that seems to bethe way it goes. I do like the tie together that GT conjured up. Good luck on controls.
