1989 85hp force outboard no start issues

Yes loosen and move as Jerry suggested. It doesn’t have to necessarily make sense. That bracket grounds the choke to the motor just right and has to be mounted just right. Adjust and try. This happened to me ! HAPPY 4th!!

    Float valve needle 1989. 85hp

Cool. Before you hook the fuel supply to the carbs do yourself a favor and pump through some fuel into a small clear container and check all is flushed out-I remember you saying you were sucking some rusty fuel from an old tank so…

    Float valve needle 1989. 85hp

Let Jerryjerry05 chime in on this but I don’t feel it’s a must as long as your inlet and needle tip are either rubber tip/metal seat or rubber seat/metal tip. Just make sure you’ve got that filter prior to the carbs installed and you should be good. You change the inlets right? Cleaned up and...

    Float valve needle 1989. 85hp

Can you use the old spring-the spring insures the needle operates with float level/movement.

New NGK BR8HS plugs improve overall performance

Yeah well I’m running around with a 125hp and pretty happy with the no gappers; idles perfect and has great hole shot. Just a slight case of hick ups at start up but clears up in 10 seconds as it warms up. I think I’ll leave well enough alone on this one for now
