Ok I got my rebuild kit in for carb. When installing the needle for float valve I noticed that the new needle does not have a piece on it to hold it to the float. So when the float comes down the needle is staying up. Is this ok or do I need another needle. I wasn't sure if just the pressure of gas while running would push it down or not as it doesn't take much and it will come down. Thanks again

Can you use the old spring-the spring insures the needle operates with float level/movement.

I have already put it back together and put the bowls back on and all I just didn't put them on the engine and try it yet because something's telling me it's not Right

This may sound dumb well I'm sure it does but I was thinking what if I was to put a small notch on that needle myself band then use the metal wire inside a bread tie or something in that sort seems that it's only needed for the downward motion. I don't mind buying the right one but according to the kit that one should have been right. Just a thought lol

The little spring; in my mind is just insurance that it all functions when needed. Now my carbs don’t have the little springs and all is well…

Let Jerryjerry05 chime in on this but I don’t feel it’s a must as long as your inlet and needle tip are either rubber tip/metal seat or rubber seat/metal tip. Just make sure you’ve got that filter prior to the carbs installed and you should be good. You change the inlets right? Cleaned up and blown out?

Cool. Before you hook the fuel supply to the carbs do yourself a favor and pump through some fuel into a small clear container and check all is flushed out-I remember you saying you were sucking some rusty fuel from an old tank so…
