    Check replace your battery cables. You never said year of the boat. Just checked mine and they are TOTAL trash even though they looked ok.

    The marine engine parts diagram shows it as a carburetor 20. J20creda It starts but does not keep running. Carb cleaned, new fuel pump, hoses etc. I was thinking the previous owner may have screwed the idle mix screw in WAY too far. I may need another top cover. Having trouble finding the exact...

    Does the motor need to be laying with the prop up? Otherwise the lube would flow out? Right?

    I would check the compression before moving on. Did the previous owner rebuild it? It could be anybody's guess.
