    I would like to remove my drive shaft and spray it with silicone to help protect it from rust or pitting but not certain how to remove.     1980 4.5 evinrude longshaft....sweeeeet

    I own a couple of small motors and by far the little 4.5 is the smoothest, quiet and fastest to start of all of them. Also seems to be very easy to maintain. What do you think?

    1992 johnson 3hp j3renm shifter bushing

    I would like to remove and replace a "shifter" bushing which is located at the bottom of my shifter rod. It appears to be pressed in. does anyone know how to remove it and do I just press it back in? Looks like there may be a o ring as well. Replacing this component should help keep the gearcase...

    I removed the shift rod "clip" (next to carb), then removed the trim tab bolt, then the inode bolt and another one right next to the inode then the four main bolts.
