That works! A customer died just outside the marina, The boat was getting beat from the waves and slamming against the break wall, I went out there and found the primer, they didn't know they had.... Got them back to the ramp.

    Erratic tach, misfire.

Thank you for the explanation! Thats thinking outside the box, I've never seen nor heard of a ground on a dizzy, but it makes sense. Reminds me of when me and my son stuffed a chev 400 in a concord. Missed a ground from the Moter to the body. It was fine for a few months, then suddenly the...

    Erratic tach, misfire.

Thank you for that info. Had one about 5 years ago come to the shop, had the same issue. I had to take a ride with him and it took an hour to show up. Didn’t figure it out at the time but it does make sense, I don’t know what he did with the rig in the long run but we never saw him again.

    Lower unit fill plug seal

Not in my opinion. Them rubber coated metal ones leak quit often . But that’s just my 25 years of experience talking.

My Boat capsized and asking help in figuring where the water came in!

Like to help myself. Do you have pictures of the area of the live well, plumbing, thru hulls and stuff? I think that would help us out on here.

    Lower unit fill plug seal

Are they those yellow rubber coated ones? I personally don’t like those. Had a couple leak, even after the first use. The blue paper ones never an issue. BUT, with any drain screw you replace it every time you drain the lube.

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

Well some manuals tell you to use adhesive on the exhaust bellow. I’ve done it and it comes off when trimming up. Read somewhere else that said clean and dry. Works for me!

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

Exhaust bellow is best installed dry, no adhesive. In my experience it comes off if adhesive is applied.

    Charging trolling motor batteries

If there was a good way to charge them I think electric cars would use it instead of having to be plugged in.

    1968 Evinrude 9.5 over heating

Well, I forgot about those type of gaskets. thanks' for the reminder. lol Also I've read that those metal shim gaskets may contain asbestos. No big deal, and the old timers would soak them in water to swell them back up and let them dry for re-use.

    1968 Evinrude 9.5 over heating

it. Question, I work on a lot of vintage cars and trucks. On those its normal when I replace a head gasket I coat the gasket and metal surfaces with copper coat for a good seal, Should I do the same with this? What? Never apply sealant to a head gasket. If machined properly no sealer is needed.

Bolts/screws boke off, thread/pipe tap -size? Alpha One Gen 2

If those are the bonding wires, just drill a new hole next to the old broken one, being sure to drill where the wire will reach. Then use a ss screw as stated above. Drilling the old screw out never results in a good time.

I/O 18 ft. Does it sit too low in the stern?

That sounds like the transom boot/seal. A pic would verify. Easy repair if that's it.
