2002 Sun Tracker 22' pontoon boat

How is the boat being used? Are you pulling kids on a tube or something? Do you CARE about top speed? I know people that NEVER use more than 1/4 throttle on their pontoons. You're prop would be fine for use in that situation. It's not hurting a thing. -BUT- If you're looking for increased...

    Questions regarding tow vehicle

Thinking tongue weight may be an issue as well. A pick up should have no trouble with a 20' boat....

    2005 Bentley 240 Fish Console

Pictures might help. Some of them have a molded top, and that whole thing comes up for service. Near impossible to say without seeing it. You're going to love that Garmin...

    fuel mileage

Think 4 stroke. My 90 Honda w/carbs won't use 24 gallons in an entire season. Fuel injected motors do even better and run great - until they don't...... Another thought too. While pontoons are absolutely great, I've had one for the last 40 years or so, when you've got a favorite destination...

2007 Honda 20HP 4 stroke outboard fuel problem

I think it may be time to consider going back through the carbs.....

    22 dlx 90 hp mercury 4stroke

There's one other thing in play, or perhaps a different way of showing what Tommy is talking about. My 24' boat w/90 Honda will turn up about 6200 using a 13" pitch prop (3 blade) and run in the low 20's. Tons of acceleration on tap for pulling tubers. When I went to a 15" prop, rpms dropped to...

2007 Honda 20HP 4 stroke outboard fuel problem

I doubt seriously it's that arm. My bet is it's sucking air somewhere or possibly the fuel line is collapsed. Do you have another fuel line you could try? You say it bogs when you "hit the throttle", have you tried doing that while somebody is squeezing the primer bulb?

    22 dlx 90 hp mercury 4stroke

When it comes to speed, your 4 bladed prop may not be helping a thing. They're way more about hole shot and low speed maneuvering. On a conventional hull, something capable of 30mph and higher, I would think the 4 blade would be a step backwards for those where top speed is a priority. On a...

Is it the prop pitch or something more...?

Yes, something in the low 20's would be about what I would expect as well. If the engine is starting easily, and idling smoothly, and seems to be running OK at a constant rpm, I would guess it's fine. If it seems like it has a miss, or it's surging, it's not OK.... That 13" prop should have...

Power increase needed for 2004 Harris Kayot Royal Heritage 260 pontoon.

A 130 is 2 steps up from that 50 weight wise. I'd say your concern is legitimate. The 130's are getting pretty heavy for a conventional pontoon, even w/25" tubes. 28" tubes might be a different story, but generally you don't see those on anything but I/O powered boats. Yamaha and Merc both have...

Towing 20 hours from FL to TX

When considering shipping, if you can afford to fly back after dropping the Rover, you may want to reconsider what you can afford and get some quotes. Don't forget to consider what driving that Rover yourself is going to cost. You wouldn't be spending that money if shipping.... Drive safely!

    Hard Shifters and other issues

Clearly something is not right. I agree you shouldn't have slop like that. The ONLY way you are going to be able to fix it is to do whatever is necessary to find that slop. I doubt seriously it's the cables themselves. It's much more likely going to be at either end of them. You'll need to do...

Safe to tow with bow not resting on front roller?

That chain is supposed to help keep the boat from shooting right up and over the winch stand in an accident scenario. Have you seen the pictures of the boats sitting on top of the tow vehicle, or possibly even in front of it? Without something like that chain in place, that's often what happens...

Safe to tow with bow not resting on front roller?

To answer the question, you can pull it like that, but there's a good chance the front of the trailer is going to feel "bouncy" going down the road. If the boat were snugged up against the roller, the boat hull acts to stiffen the trailer, taking this bounce out of the picture. That gap is...

What kind of smalll boat is this?

I think it's an older jet boat. Thinking 70's or early 80's. They were underperformers and only sold for a couple of years.

1993 Johnson 115hp prop for sking

My point exactly! So you spent 100. or more not knowing this? That's a pretty significant gamble the way I see it. Not offended at all. Just trying to give somebody following a heads up. You DON"T know how qualified the guy is. You SHOULD have a good idea of what you are looking for to qualify...

1993 Johnson 115hp prop for sking

You mean the guy that's had boats all his life, that's worked with hundreds of customers regarding a "best" prop over the last 20+ years? This vs. somebody that's never had a boat, but scored a sales job in a bait shop? The issue is, separating those like the first guy, a shop owned by a guy...

1993 Johnson 115hp prop for sking

Another vote for a 17p. And I agree falling at 36mph can hurt like hell. That's no way to introduce/reintroduce somebody to slalom skiing for sure. Start at maybe 25-28 mph, and if the skier wants to go faster, have him tell you that (using previously agreed on hand signals). Don't ASSume some...

    Boat Service manual

Pontoons are built using generic parts for the most part, and while wiring diagrams vary a bit, most play be the same set of rules. Point being, it's very unlikely the boat manf. has a manual. For help on any particular item, do a google search on the manf and model number of that item.
