    leaking oil.

Looks like gear oil, probably leaking from one of two places??? The shift rod seal, or the drive shaft seal under the water pump. Drain the oil, drop the lower unit, then pressure test and using soapy water find the leak. That hole is there just for that reason, to drain excess water or unburned...

2000 115 txry(?) 2 stroke. Starts great and runs all day at an idle. Give it gas and it dies. Won't rev up. Not overheating, good gas, carbs spotless, good comp all 4, good spark, fuel pump new, plugs good, linkage ok, motor seems to be in good shape, just no go. """GUESSING???"""Is it...

Force 85 (1985) Doesn't like to do more than idle in water - and often dies on its own

Always include the year, model and serial# if possible. Fuel pump. ?? The factory sent out a service bulletin in the late 80's that the air screw should be set at 1 turn out and left there. BUT!! not all motors run at that setting. I found 1 1/8th turn worked great on my motors. One of my...

    1990 force problems

Sounded good to me. A no load of 5000rpm really doesn't show much. A loaded rpm would be much better, in the water, boat loaded and gassed. Then try to hit 5500 at wide open.

    Force/U S Marine 15 hp won't start

Did you check the things I posted before? (The fuel line where it goes into the motor, that connector has a rubber seal that goes bad and allows the motor to suck air and die. Another problem might be the float in the carb isn't set right and runs itself out of fuel. When pumping the ball, does...

    Tilt trim

Also new pump: the connector (if there is one??) between the motor and pump might not be hooked up? Or since it's new the connector might be too short or missing?? Not all have a connector.
