    Are the spindles attached to a fixed axle or are they torsion axles? Has to be a bearing / bearing race mismatch or the wrong hub, or both.. Compare everything to the other one that is correct. That should solve the problem, or at least give an indication of where the problem lies. Only fly...

    Or an open / bad ground on one of the lights on the trailer. If one light isn't grounded properly, it usually looks for a ground through any common wiring such as the running / tail lights. Look for a bad ground on the left tail light.

    One place that won't show up easily is the power steering cooler. That would be a pressure test in the cooler inlet and outlet lines. The leaked oil goes right out through the exhaust with the cooling water. Good luck....

    Do not use regular old "RTV" around the intake ports. Gasoline melts RTV and will cause vacuum leaks.

    You can connect an old school dwell meter to neg side of coil. If it shows dwell while engine is cranking, then system is working to the coil..

    If it were me, I would get the Mercruiser, but that setup looks to be viable.... IF it is USA made, not Chinesium. Fleabay ad does not state where it's made. Contact the seller to find out it's origin.
