    Would you?

Distance doesn't matter. Neither do the mods to the vehicle. Short wheelbase, lifted, with heavy trailer = no go in my book. It'll be the tail wagging the dog in an emergency. So my answer remains the same...I'd go with the pickup over the Jeep every day, twice on Sunday. I use the Durango in...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

As long as there is a drain in the bulkhead for the ski locker for the water to travel to the bilge, it will be a non-issue. As others said, having 3 boys, storage is a must on a boat - can't have enough. I store oars, spare bumpers, cover support poles and the kids' kick boards for when they...

    Would you?

Considering your other thread asking about Smart Tabs has the bed of a pickup truck in the pic, I'd use the truck all day long. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/smart-tabs.771093/ But that's me, living in a sue happy state.

Say goodbye to Glastron as you know it

Been half heartedly looking at Glastron since they're one of the few boat manufacturers still doing Fish & Ski glass boats. Noticed quite some time ago the dealer network is AWOL - no one around me sells them anymore, used to be a couple dealers within an hour drive. No new boat models released...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Considering it snowed into the boat, I wager its mostly frozen. So until it thaws out, you have no easy way of telling if anything is soft. That's floor, stringers, and transom. Any trapped water froze too so you may have other issues below deck. Best bet, if possible, is get the boat warmed up...

    Electric Trolling Motor Recommendations

Worth mentioning...it's also a narrow boat. As you move the center of gravity up, it's gonna get tippy. Best of luck.

    Electric Trolling Motor Recommendations

No offense but with that size boat, about any trolling motor is going to be sufficient. Especially since its a tinny. I would think lower end Motorguide or Minnkota is probably good. Items like spot lock or integrated transducer are probably not going to be on your wish list as I don't see a...

    Boat trailer

Talk with the registering authority as to what you need to have done. It may involve... *visit from state police to verify no vin/sn *weight slip from certified scale *registering as homemade where state police issue a new vin/sn Only by going to the registering authority will you know what...

    2024 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

Reading some of the articles, it seems the Patriots built in the ejector seat for Billy a while back with Jerod's contract. Pretty smart. They just had to pull the handle and they were off and running with a new coach.

    1987 Glasstream ProBass 1550 'restoration'

Cheap...Garmin Stryker 4 plus. I have one, came with my Chap. I don't like it - too small of a screen and very basic GPS functionality. I did mention its incredibly cheap...even new. Personally I'm looking at replacing it with a Humminbird Helix of some sort. I still need to sell my admiral on...

    Co-owning a boat?

So...who holds the title? Insurance? Bank note? I see it as a quick way to shrink your circle of friends. I wouldn't do it.

    Which hull brands to avoid

I'd really review your thinking on Bayliner. I owned one, see my signature, which recently resurfaced on Craigslist this past year and looked darn near pristine - trailer needed work. They have come a long, long ways since the days they were parked outside your local K-Mart. Otherwise, I also...

Gheenoe - want to widen and lengthen

Last seen in 2014...probably on your own on this one. Only other member I could find was Oops! and he was last on in 2012. Link to that thread: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/hull-extension-in-progress-with-pics.231766/ Considering the blood, sweat, tears, lots of time (some have what...

    Tire size mismatch question

You know trailer tires should be replaced every 3-5 years right? They break down in the sun. You *might* get a year or two more than that but you're taking your chances at that point. My spare tire split in the treads, only sitting on the spare tire mount. That was the start of year 4. I...

    20hp Honda on Basstender 11.3

To get to that higher horsepower rating on your first boat, the manufacturer may have used different materials and/or strengthened the hull/transom to accept more power. The older boat probably doesn't have those design changes. So to answer the question, I wouldn't put double the recommended...

    Cheap Stereo Documentation Question

I was looking at the Rockford Fosgate PMX-3 to replace my hunk of junk radio. I currently have a Jensen MS3A which I do not recommend - pain to use, pain to synch to, pain to adjust, just an overall pain.

    2023 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

Bills made some progress I see. It normally takes them until the playoffs to choke under pressure. This time they did it in only a couple quarters..to a backup quarterback no less. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Cheap Stereo Documentation Question

I'd just replace it. In the grand scheme of things, my sanity (and having a better product) is worth more than figuring out a knock off radio. **My googling failed as well.

Attaching Rubber Fender List To Side Of Solar Cell Driven Catamaran

Nothing to lose. But if its been coiled up that long, chances are good it has a "memory" which you're not going to totally remove without some extreme measures.

    New Trailer - Weird Bunks

"Ramp" to bring the boat up on retrieval if needed. That way the bunk doesn't catch on a rivet/joint.
