    1999 Force/Merc 75HP 3 Cylinder 2-Stoke Rough Running Issues

does it spark w. plugs in? needs to turn 250rpm or so. full charge on battery. it does sound like you are describing a lean condition though. primer works and throttle plates 100% closed? how many turns out are the slow speed needles?

something new coming in electric OB

for the last 100+ years, power from an electric motor has never been the issue. what good is it if it needs inefficient, heavy batteries? zero benefit in a marine application as modern 4 strokes are near silent, and way lighter as a complete powertrain that can get incredible range.

something new coming in electric OB

1956 Johnson 6hp versus evinrude 6hp pros and cons

I always thought the strongest 6hp made was the top-mounted version with the big 8hp ports. obviously an 8hp would whoop a 50's 7.5hp, and its usually lighter and similar price. the 8hp was a completely different beast power-wise than the 6hp same year.

be sure to get a big syringe or turkey baster and test the bottom of tank for water intrusion, and soapy water after squeezing the bulb to make sure there are no air leaks.

something new coming in electric OB

unless you are rich and have your own powersource at your own private dock, where are you going to charge these things? big marinas will not let you tie up their shore power for anything less than a fortune, and on any given summer day they are booked months sometimes years in advance. also, a...

    Evinrude 40hp Water Temp alarm

the overheat alarm should sound right around 200f (90c or thereabouts) so 82c is odd, especially since you say its not hot. what are you using to measure temp and where on the block? cylinder head temp is taken at flat spot on top of head at 900rpm. these will run warm if the RPM is too low, but...

    1999 Force/Merc 75HP 3 Cylinder 2-Stoke Rough Running Issues

you may want to test running voltage at each CDM module with a DVA adapter. I would just rule out any issues there since you did so much with fuel. these merc ignitions are very simple as the CDI is built into the ignition coil and can be tested easily. i have the same one... quite rare 3 carb...
