    Rebuilt Carburetor… Still No Idle!

there is no idle timing setting for the smaller motors, although OMC did try that only for a few years with the 6-8hp. 99% of them its just making sure the throttle plates open when inline with the mark on throttle cam, and the later ones you can adjust throttle cam @ WOT so throttle plates are...

1990 90HP Pontoon, 4300 RPM at WOT, Do I need a new prop?

on this type of boat sure. but yes flex is minimal, its really the thin blades that makes a noticeable difference. obviously the faster the boat the more this low drag effect gets magnified. id say a 15 is still too much, especially when the boat is loaded down. im just paranoid of not lugging a...

    Looking at a boat with a 1995 Evinrude 120 V4, anything I should know?

by 1988 with the big bore looper 120 and 140hp the issues disappeared for the most part. the best and strongest by far was the 130hp and 135hp (made under BRP only for a year or 2). they didn't make a 120 in 1995 only a 125 commercial and 130hp. i'd check the ID tag for a model code and report...

    Rebuilt Carburetor… Still No Idle!

80-90psi these will run quite happily. the primer: disconnect the tiny primer hose going into the intake and plug it with a screw or whatever after the motor is warmed up. if the issue goes away, time for new 0-rings in the primer housing. did you try pumping the bulb to see if it will stay...

    VRO Failure & Life Expectancy

youd need to drain the float bowls as well, because by the time the alarm sounds it would most likely have just raw fuel in them.

1990 90HP Pontoon, 4300 RPM at WOT, Do I need a new prop?

a stainless prop is better in almost every single way than an aluminum! a few extra pounds in weight is far far outweighed when you realize how much more efficient the thin, rigid blades of a stainless are. they accelerate harder, cruise faster, and are faster on top end even on pontoons. if his...

1990 V4 runs on two cylinders at low RPMs

if you have ANY sort of air leak it WILL starve the motor of fuel! my suggestion is to get a brand new hose and bulb at this point and stick it deeply in a can of premix and run the motor at full throttle with an assistant. that motor should NOT be idling with the idle stop screw not touching...

    1993 Johnson, 200 hp help!

a vacuum leak? the only leaks that would effect a 2 stroke at speed are crank case, intake and upper and lower crank seals.

    1979 Johnson 6hp spark on 1 cylinder

good lesson to learn: resistance tests only tell you if it needs to be replaced if out of spec. a good resistance test does NOT mean its putting out the proper running voltage.

Where do I find a Johnson SeaHorse 4.5 manual, and what oil do I need to run it with?

should be J5RHCSS or J5RCSS . Perhpas this is an early Belgian model but either way yes its a 4.5. I would STRONGLY suggest doing the head gasket as well. probably never been done, and water deflecter in block while your at it or risk a leak down the road.

1990 V4 runs on two cylinders at low RPMs

people will argue, but so what if the float touches the bottom? makes no difference. if it did, alot more motors would have issues. i do see # 324891 is out of stock everywhere. I wonder how hard it would be to make one out of hard plastic? probably not very!

    2000 70hp Evinrude 4 stroke. Thoughts

sounds likely you have an unrelated potentially bad powerhead issue. maybe the belt slipped i'd check that. hopefully not an interference motor, but that suzuki (I think came from an esteem car originally) vintage probably is.

21 23/32. Just careful its quite tricky without that lovely height gauge tool. thats in neutral, offset facing wherever it was when you took it out im guessing to the port side.
