Any fixing this?

Went to fire my Johnson 6 up today and broke part of the recoil. It’s been sitting for last few months and I was gonna try to fish this weekend.

Any fixing this or just gotta replace the part?

I ordered the metal one and it works. There is a slight difference. It still starts the motor. I would recommend replacing the plastic part with another plastic part however. The teeth between the gear and fly wheel sits about 1/8" lower than before.

The broken part was from a 1976 Johnson. The all metal recoil I replaced it with was from Ebay and the same part number. No idea what motor it came off. Both same model number. The plastic recoil was about 1/8th inch longer.

for some reason i was thinking 1980-up recoil not the older ones. makes sense.
