Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

Yikes, I never heard of the enforcement actions like that. We have diesel here in NJ that is dyed or not to show it payed road tax. Marine diesel is not taxed the same way.

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

BTW- if you do mix non-dyed ND SAE-30 oil into your gasoline, like we did in the 60's and 70's, you can see it, but it is not obvious. In those days I was using a 24::1 mix in my Fatty, and that quart of oil gave the gasoline a greasy yellow color.

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

I generally use one of the syn blend Pennzoil TCW-III products. It works fine. I just wanted to try a full syn oil, for curiosity.

Gee, I would have expected the opposite.

Vintage Merc 50Hp, 8 Flywheel/ringgear bolts removed, how to re-time flywheel to hub, so distributor belt can be installed.

FWIW, I think the year of your motor will be late 60s or early 70's. My '73 Merc had timing marks on the cowling, and the timing decal on the flexplate. My '77 had a timing pointer and timing decal on the flexplate. Your flexplate looks like it has a single timing mark, likely TDC. It...

Vintage Merc 50Hp, 8 Flywheel/ringgear bolts removed, how to re-time flywheel to hub, so distributor belt can be installed.

Gee, getting the flex plate back on properly is child's play, if you have a timing mark for TDC. I do not agree that those 8 bolts are never to be removed. It is a lot easier to remove those and pull the stator, then to pull the flywheel bolt. You really need to know the year of the motor...

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

Jimmbo, 2 cycle oil in the 60's was often just non-detergent SAE-30 auto oil. Some were adding dye to it back then, but not everyone. We often ran cheap ND SAE-30 in my Fat-Fifty and Big Twin. I thought Sierra was very kind to me by providing prompt answers to my questions. They counseled...

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

Gee, it was not DFI oil. It was full synthetic Sierra TCW-III, and it was supposed to be blue. As it had no dye, I was concerned that something else might be wrong with it as well. I thought that the OEM of the oil responded to my questions was a positive. They do not sell retail.

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

I wanted to buy some full synthetic 2 cycle oil (TCW-3) for my speedboat. The boat has a a135HPV6 on it, and I thought maybe the full syn stuff was smoke less. I bought a gallon of it from amazon in Feb. When I opened it in June, it was oil colored (yellow), not blue or green as I had...

    89 Mercury 80hp - fuel issue, stumped

The crankcase should not introduce air. Air in the crankcase will decrease the fuel pump's efficiency, as well as screw up the fuel scavenging. I agree with electric john

    Mariner 135hp wont pump water

With the gearcase removed, you can put a garden hose on the water tube and with low pressure (5-7PSI), test the water passages. Water should flow easily out of the 'stat holes. With the 'stats installed, water should flow with up to 10 PSI needed to open the poppit valve. Look under the...

    How to correct positive camber

Maybe the axle is not installed straight on the trailer frame? If one side of the leaf springs were mounted further back on the trailer, it would cause tracking issue. Maybe that would cause the wear on the tires? You might measure from the rear of the trailer frame to the axle and see if...

So no choke on that carb? Interesting.

    Mariner 135hp wont pump water

The serial number puts it as a 90s model I would think. Those tend to have lower cowlings that split, and come off horizontally. Look for some 1/4" cap screws in the lower cowling, front and back.

Vintage Merc 50Hp, 8 Flywheel/ringgear bolts removed, how to re-time flywheel to hub, so distributor belt can be installed.

Putting the flex plate on correctly is easy. Eight bolts means 360*/8 = 45* per hole. It should be easy to get the timing within 45*. so set the top piston to top dead center with a screwdriver. Now install the timing belt on the inner flywheel and put the flexplate on and turn it until...

It is always wise to keep the swivel pin well-greased, as the repair is an ugly one.

When she bogs, hit the choke button for 1/8 sec and see if she picks up. If so, it is some sort of fuel delivery issue. If not, maybe an ign issue?

    1996 suntracker party barge 21

Gee, measure the area where you want the tank. An external fuel fill fitting may give you an idea where it was originally. Now find a aftermarket tank that comes close to fitting. Alternatively, there is a welder near me that makes custom stainless steel fuel tanks. I expect you will...

    200 hp Johnson locking lever

Gee, Bud, on my Johnny '98 150HPV6, one needs to move the trailering brace away from the grease fitting on the swivel shaft, to get to the zerk.
