    1990 Evinrude 150hp V6 with OS2 - SW

If the diaghram in the fuel pump leaks, raw gas will be introduced into the crankcase. You will see it on the water, and it can even cause hydrolock. You might pull off the pulse line and pump the fuel primer bulb and see if she leaks. What oil alarm do you get? A 1990 would have a 3 alarm...

Easy way to remove carpet from aluminum deck?

Grab the edge and pull off what you can. Most of the time the mastic is weaker than the carpet base and most of it comes off. Then heat and scrape is in order. There should be a solvent for any residual mastic, likely mineral spirits.

    1966 Johnson 60hp won’t fully engage reverse.

Check the play in the shift linkage. On my Fat-fifty, it was 1/8" movement before the cradle moved. Sometimes new bushings can be fitted.

    200 hp Johnson locking lever

Gee, I doubt you will need that locking lever. If the PTT will hold the motor when running under load, it will hold it fine when not running. You can use the flip down lock when trailering, if you think that is necessary, but I still think the PTT is up to it easily.

    Mercruiser exhaust system gaskets.

Gee, isn't it easier to lap it on a piece of glass with a piece of sandpaper? Filing flat takes a skill and experience. Wood butchers like me need the flat surface of glass to make it work.

    Rectifier Upgrade

Tachs do not last forever. I would rotate the tach settings to get any corrosion off of them. Tachs run off the raw AC stator voltage. You can therefore connect them as such. VRs usually have a grey tach feed, which is just the raw AC voltage from the stator. Disconnect the rectifier...

Adhesive for attaching decking to stringers.

Gee, is PL adhesive rated for water intrusion? If so, it is just as good as poly resin.

Ratcheting Into Reverse - Mercruiser Alpha One Gen 2

BTW- the forward gear clutch dog projections are slightly curved. When in forward, and the prop is turned faster then the engine revs, you will hear a rachet sound. This is normal. Reverse gear locks the dog into the reverse gear. There should not be any racheting.

Ratcheting Into Reverse - Mercruiser Alpha One Gen 2

You should always shift "positively" into gear. "Babying" the shift causes damage. MerCruisers share clutch dogs with Mercury OBs. As such they have a number of projections on the forward part of the clutch dog, and matching ones on the forward gear. This helps slightly worn clutch dogs to...

Anyone affected by the Canadian Wildfires ?????

We smelled the smoke here in central NJ. The smoke-fog was noticeable as well.

Adhesive for attaching decking to stringers.

One more thing. You will want to cover the deck in resin and cloth. 2 layers of light cloth or one layer of heavy cloth will usually work, although more can be better.

    Rectifier Upgrade

Gee, if you get an aftermarket voltage rectifier, it needs to be sealed against sparks. Sparks under the OB cowling are quite dangerous.

    Rotted Plywood Edges

Minor imperfections can be addressed with polyester or epoxy putty.

Adhesive for attaching decking to stringers.

Lay strips of resin saturated cloth on top of the stringers and frames. Now using ss wood screws, screw thru the deck into the stringers and frames. That is the best and strongest way to attach the decking, IMO.

Been gone 20+ years...I'm back. Question--removing mold/crap from an old boat

Gee, purple stuff for the dirt, bleach for the mildew. They have anti-mildew stuff, as well as purple stuff for the pressure washer, if you like.

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

Gee, the data shows some misfires. Is that normal?

125 HP fails to rev up

Gee, that is an unusual place for rust to form. It is usually pretty waterproof under the plug boot. Perhaps water was spraying from under the water jacket cover onto the spark plug? I would expect the shell to also be rusty if that happened.

125 HP fails to rev up

Was the rust on the shell part of the spark plug?

    Box anchors.

Gee, a fluke anchor will do the same but needs more scope. I have a 2.5 pound fluke anchor that holds my 16 footer real well. Not sure it gets better than that.
