    OK, you have a fuel restriction, air leak into the fuel line or a fuel pump that is not working properly. What kind of fuel filters do you have? Outboard often have fuel screens. My '98 Johnny 150HPV6 has a screen under the airbox. Some fuel tank pickup tubes have a filter hidden inside them.

    The prop should have a set of pat numbers on it. It may be under the trash at the prop nut or on the side of the hub.

    Tilt/trim problem

    Sometimes you need to "help" the motor to trim up, by grabbing it and lifting. This will bleed them as well. Just let her sit a minute all the way up to allow air to bubble out of the fluid. Usually, you fill them when tilted all the way up.

    If you look on the crowleymarine web site at the part numbers for the two gearcase shells, you may get an idea of what will interchange. Of course the part number of the gearcases themselves will differ if they have different gear ratios. Sterndrive Engineering (SEI) may also give some clues.

    Gee, I don't do any of that. I leave the fuel line connected to the engine all winter. It is a V6 with 6 carbs, so it would be hard to drain and running it dry would be bad. My carbs are clean.....who knew?
