Lots of good names out there. Aluminati; The Secret Society of the Uber Cheap Starcraft Aluminum Restoration Klan. Is this one of those societies where there's only one way out? Or am I confusing this with another organization? I'm just asking, not trying to start any trouble here. No trouble here.

Speaking of trouble what are the rules concerning naming a boat? If you haven't splashed it yet can you just change the name? If you have an official name what must you do to change it? Can you change it? Any clarification of these rules would be appreciated. I would like to stay as far away from Davey Jones' locker as possible. Who was Davey Jones anyway?

Gotta love Google, you can find out anything. Apparently Davey Jones was a member of the Monkees.;) They had a hit show in the mid 60's. If memory serves me correct the Monkeemobile was a blown 66' GTO. Car modifier Dean Jeffries was the creator of this machine. I think I'll get the model of it for Zach for Christmas. The only other plastic model that sold more than the Monkee mobile was the General Lee.

I went to Autorama a few years back in Detroit. My brother was admiring the Munster mobile and started talking to a guy next to him. It turned out to be Eddie Munster! I got to talk to "Cooter" from Dukes of Hazard while eying the General (no Daisy:mad:). There was nearly every car built by Barris there, Roth's work was on full display too. If you haven't been and your a rodder of any kind go. I'll be there this March. Zach wants a picture of himself with Chip Foose.

I'll see if I can dig up the pictures. Really good stuff.

We went with "Far Far Away"
from Middletown ( in smaller font)

Not taken from Shrek. But from Forrest Gump. The little girl praying in the field. Lord make me a bird, so I can Fly...Far Far Away.
From Middletown is where we live, but wish we didn't..

My '66 Lonestar was named Enterprise years ago (when owned by a Star Trek fan). She is currently being refitted and will get new paint in the spring. At that time she will get renamed Nefarious Enterprise, more in keeping with MY personality ;)

i had to share this altho it ain't my Starcraft.....a friend suggested i name the 12' portabote "Orca Bait", since a pod of orcas (orcae?) has been hanging out just a couple of miles off San Carlos.....

Orcas scare me. They are very smart hunters and extremely large. Anything that will feed on a great white is definitely at the very top of the food chain. They weigh up to 6 tons and a pod can consist of 40 killer whales:eek::eek:. Anyone who gets in an aquarium tank with one is stupid.

Barato I think you need a bigger boat. Stay away from them. If you go near them I pray you live and please send me some pictures if you do.:D

Haha that's great! I gave the naming rights to my buddy when I bought the Donzi though, so Bear probably won't be in the name. :(

The Donzi's first owner was an orthopedic surgeon, so he named her Bone-Apart. It's not terrible so I'll just keep it. Don't feel like renaming her... too scared :redface: :rolleyes:

Named my very first jon boat 'The Dirty Oar' -----that name has since been reassigned to the craft. just sorta stuck. i mean, she's not very dirty nor is she a ..... well let's just say it's a term of endearment!

Instead of just munched and crunched like the Sea World trainer? Totally eaten huh? You know they play with their food, tossing Barato 10 feet in the air, then a rugby dash to recover you, then ripping an arm off when Ollie Orca tries to take you away from ShamPoo..lol
Gimmie a 50 cal on the fwddeck and everythings gonna be a-ok..just in case..Yes, Fish and Game.. I am 1/10000000 Eskimo, and I can hunt Willie...lol

They won't eat a human. A walrus or seal yes, a person no? Really, they don't eat people? No way I'd trust them, and yes you do need a bigger boat. They are up to 6 tons and they own the ocean. I'd be scared shi*less if the came up around my boat.

I could just see an Orca jumping up on deck and snatching a fishing buddy off just like when they grab a seal. Where's Frank, I dunno he was just here a minute ago. Did you here that big splash? No the outboard is so loud I can't hear anything:p. Frank....... Frank... where's Charlie? What, I can't hear you, outboard's too loud.:p

and BTW, i HAVE a bigger boat, i just need to make it operative for more than drinking beer and dreaming in. not THAT big, but have you ever gotten a piece of alum foil between your teeth? they'd give up after one bite. another argument for TIN hulls!!!!!

Kev, i think it would take something more than a .50 to stop an orca. try a 30mm cannon...?? either one on the bow has got to make the game wardens and marine patrol approach you a little more cautiously.....but it might get the Mexican navy a little upset, since no one has guns in Mexico and all that...

The name of my boat is The Skinny Pig !!
I'm a tall drink of water that eats like i'm going to the electric chair and as time goes by all my friends are gaining weight but I somehow cannot gain a pound to save my soul.
Lucky metabolism I guess so S Pig seemed apropriate for the boat.:D
