I use mine on Lake Erie and the Maumee river. Pretty dirty muddy water. My friends dubbed it the
S#!T SKIMMER and it stuck.

Still have the boats sans wife

I'm currently trying to come up with a name for mine... Last year I took it up north to a few lakes, stayed on my friends land and it was muddy. My truck spun its rear tires and sprayed mud all over the bow... So we called it "poopy" but I'm thinking ... "skidmark" or "brown streak" lol any ideas?

Mine doesn't have a name yet, but since I've retired, I thought calling it "Permanent Vacation" might be cool.

Last fall we went to a marina to look at a 24' Doral Suncruiser, it was a nice looking boat and the price was a bargain. My housedragon saw this old, sad, blue boat sitting on a rusty trailer in the tall grass. It was a 1979 Starcraft Islander 22', exterior & canvas looked ok but interior was original and rough. She loved it and we became the new owners. During the 2 hour haul home she decided to name it "Dragon's Den". Somehow it became her boat but I have to do all the work. :)

All my boats were named FIV I, II, III, etc.. I thought I was going to name this one using the same routine but instead, after a day of succesful fishing, I decided to call her "Pole Dancer".. Later that day, I heard Pete Stringfellows song "Pole Dancer" on the radio. I had posted my name decision of Facebook before I heard the song so I thought it was pretty cool and put a note on Pete's facebook page. He thought it was a pretty cool coincidence too. He did mention a video but I'm not sure if he's serious or not. I told him he could use the truck and the boat if he wanted.

We named ours "THE WET BEAR"

Reason was my wife has always liked anything to do with Bear. Our company is also centered around a Bear. She also decorates with Bear stuff.

I have a new-to-me 1977 SS 18. I saw this thread a couple of days ago and started thinking about a name. I came up with "Miss Tin-essee". I like it but wonder if this creative bunch might offer some interesting alternatives. I considered "Tin-essee Waltz" but somehow that just doesn't fit this old girl.

Can you change it? Any clarification of these rules would be appreciated. I would like to stay as far away from Davey Jones' locker as possible. Who was Davey Jones anyway?

Davey Jones was the founder of the US Navy. He was actually a brit I do believe. His tomb is at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis MD. Now his is a cool story!

It just Dawned on me. It's John Paul Jones interred at the Naval Academy......Geez, I've even been there, and he was a Scott! lol

I've had kayaks and I have a Mokai (www.mokai.com) but I got my first "real" boat a month ago. Some here may not consider a Sea Rayder a real boat but it's my new favorite toy.. lol It's a 1994 with the 90 and thanks to a lot of very good reading from this forum I've managed to get her in tip top shape! My first time out in her I was thrilled at going up river at 36 mph (Humminbird GPS) and with some Smart Tabs keeping the ride like a Ferrari I decided to name her "Plane Fun". :D
