Yee haw what a weekend, I didn't really accomplish a whole lot other than a trip to the ER to get the wire from a broken grinding wheel dug out of my face.

What? No pics??? :noidea:

In all seriousness, hope it's not too serious Sig!!!!

Sig - The women pay for Botox needles, not wire from a wheel. Be careful, Guy.

Nah man it happens, I was using proper protective equipment or it would have been much much worse. Proper fitting gloves, long sleeves, and eye protection.

Ah yeah wire wheel mishaps, with me it's always huge slivers delivered deep into a finger. I can always hope that it's my middle finger that gets cut on so I can show people the injury... :D

anyways got started on this today. I have a long ways to go but I am not disappointed for it being all hand done, and my first time using the scroll saw. I need to use the sander to clean up the edges.

Interesting I never noticed my windshield being bent before.

Anyone have any tips for straightening it out

Looks like some less than intelligent people were laying over the top of it or fell against the windshield. I'm afraid you'll have to take the glass out of the frame to be able to straighten it out again. Trying to straighten it with the pane of glass inside could be a problem.

If you don't want to pull it apart, you can try using a couple of cut down 2x4's for each side of the frame while using some clamps to try and tighten them enough to sandwich the frame back straight. That probably won't get it all the way but may make it not as noticeable.

I'm with JB on this one. The fix could be worse than living with it.

Sorry to hear about the wire wheel getting to you.. I like a full face shield when using them..

The Decals look great..

The console work looks awesome.. I think I would leave the windshield like it is.. If you do try what waterman said, put a small shim on the outer edges of the windshield to help leave a gap on the inside of the bend and it will let you pull the frame just a little past straight so when you relieve the pressure it will be straight..

Hey Sig, I'd definitely straighten that windshield trim. Glass doesn't bend, so I'd take out the 3? pop rivets that hold the frame together and remove the aluminum for straightening. A 20 minute fix. A bend like it has now puts stress on the glass that could crack it on the next big wave. - Grandad
