Re: Time to get started on the starcraft resto.
These holes are from a kicker bracket the previous owner had mounted. I am undecided if I am going to remount it but they are HUGE, and apparently when he drilled the bracked he entirely missed on one hole and never bothered to seal it up. So what is the best way to seal them.
I was thinking maybe JB weld but I do want a permenant fix. I thought about rehanging the kicker bracket and finding a 6 hp or so onput on the back for trolling and such. I am undecided wether to go that route or go with an electric trolling motor I think the key difference being weight. Electric trolling motors aren't as heavy as a 6 hp gas but I don't think there will be a huge difference when i have to add an additional battery for a trolling motor.
So if I am at 65 lbs for a trolling motor and additional battery.
Or I can maybe get a 6 hp evinrude use the same gas tanks no additional battery required and maybe get a little extra UMPH if I needed to use it to get home in an emergency. What do you all think would a 6 hp troll the boat down slow enough?
Which way does everyone think.
Regardless of which route I go I am going to have to patch at least ONE really large hole.
As far as these little ones at the bottom should I pop rivet them or maybe use a bolt with 5200 through the hole or JB weld them
Either way my transom is going to look like swiss cheese.
