Sounds good, we are heading over friday morning to check into the hotel and hit up the waterpark. Maybe we can check out the boat friday afternoon or sat morning?

I'm only worried someone will show up with some cash before I get a chance to. He said he can hold it for me but you never know.

I've already secured some free outdoor storage for the new rig at my buddy's farm:)

I'd go swipe it for ya but my truck is out of commission at the moment (I can't figure if it's an ignition issue or the fuel pump).

It would be a heck of a long drive on some pretty busy roads to grab it with the Ferguson.

Sorry bro.

LOL that would be a long ride, he's in Bridgeport. It would be a funny sight to see you crossing the Zilwaukee bridge on the Ferguson:D:D

No worries, I just spoke to him again on the phone. He's gonna hold it for me until friday.

I was the first person to call and he's turned down 5 other people already. I got on the horn quickly this time and might have really lucked out.

The trailer comes with two extra tires and he told me he's planning on greasing the bearings before I hit the road.:)

Thanks for posting the link buddy! Maybe we should splash this one before we tear it apart?

I can bring the Minn Kota or we could bolt up your 50hp:p

Nice what year is it HA ??

The boat and motor are from the 70s. The outboard should be somewhere between '75-'79.

As long as it's not electric shift I will be fine with the motor.

Compression last read 90-90-85 according to the owner. For $350 I really don't care since it would still be a great parts motor probably.

This is the listing:

1970s ? with 75 hp outboard 15ft 11- w 2- 6 gal tanks with trailer and 2 spare tires deep v hull aluminum seat in fair con. floor needs to be redone, reg. good till 2012. had on water last year it ran good shut down to fish wouldn't start up. maybe carbs or air in fuel line don't know . overall boat is in fair shape. only running this ad for a week if no takers will scrap if you just need a trailer scrap the rest

The boat is white, I'm guessing a Jupiter or Holiday but who knows. We'll see when we get there! This should be fun:cool:

Sounds like a great score HA. It's almost like money in the bank. You could part that motor for more than your putting into the whole thing.

Pics when you can please.

He told me yesterday that he was gonna pull the ad so other folks stop calling.

I've got all the arrangements made to pick it up on friday, and tow it home on saturday.:D

HA...Best of luck to ya bro! Excited for you

I posted this on the SC on CL thread..But talking with the guy and may get this tomorrow night for 100.00, sans motor.
Really thinking it's just the wood transom. He has a seller that just wants the motor, and I want just the boat and trailer..
Bad thing it's a freeking OB AND a SS...crapola

Still a great deal for 100 even if the boat isn't fixable (probably is) windshield, bowrail, rubrails, corners,etc..worth that for sure.

Re: The search for a free (or nearly free) Starcraft!

SO I just got off the phone with the nice lady selling the 18 ft SS and here is her story.
One owner boat, her father bought it new.
Been sitting 2 years since he passed. Her and her husband redid all the upholstery, just dirty.
From her description, the sheet metal is fine and is in fact just rotten wood in the transom.
Here's the kicker....

If she sells the OB for 700 bucks..The boats mine for 100.00
If somebody gives her 800 for the motor and controls, it's free
All she wants is 800.00, no matter how it is split.

Her buyer is coming over tomorrow to see the OB...she will keep me updated.
I told her let ME COME SELL THE OB!! I'd be all 800 FIRM!!!!!!!! :D

The SS part I like but OB!! Really kev, really??

Actually I have nothing agin Holiday (closed bow) or outboards. I'm a hockey fan from Detroit. I can not resist a good scrum.

We can convert her to an I/O Kev. Think about it. :D
