Hi- just got my first boat

Nothing big, just an old 74 Geneva 16 ft with a Volvo Penta drive

Can't complain about the price, FREE!

Needs a freeze plug in the front of the head, old one is already out.

That and a general cleanup.

Last time out for this boat was in 07, it's been tarped since.

It's Chrysler marine 130hp- a Volvo 4 cylinder with dual carbs (!)
Got an Eagle fish finder with it too. The floor is solid, no spongy spots, but the vinyl seats are 'crunchy'. I may just get all new seating after I get er up n running. It also has new steering, and the throttle cable has been replaced.

Oh, and the tow vehicle is an 89 F-150 I bought last week for $400.....

I've heard all the stories of how a boat is just a hole in the water you throw money into.....

Had it running in the driveway today, runs good, fires right up and idles fine... seating needs to go, 35 year old wood just isn't very solid anymore.

HeloMech I do hope the gods keep shinning on you because thats a fine looking craft take good care of her and she'll take good care of you and yours. The only time I got something that nice given to me was from my Dad and my wife.

My first boat was given to me, of coarse it was a 12' tinny with no motor but it served me well.

You guys both did outstanding, free boats are usually someones garbage they don't know how to get rid of but to score a running boat for free, wow.

The larger photo's take to long to download. Again you both scored well. The only thing I get free is somebody else's junk or problems.
