BTW - I didn't see an AeroCraft section, maybe the first entry.:D

Check it out. I'm actually a missive contributor to the Areo Craft community here on iboats, see...

Our buddy Huron hangs out there too!

:D

You think my '67 Merc 500 would work on that?

I'm thinking that would be a short shaft transom. Is that what ya got?

Really is a cool looking rig. Super cool all rebuilt ya know.:)

So what ever happened to the $100 18' SS thing?

The guy that was to buy the motor backed out. This was as of Monday.
They are sposed to have another buyer looking at it sometime this week but I haven't heard anything yet.
I am thinking the Curse of EZ maybe right...
I'll call them when I get back into Florida this Sat.

Re: The search for a free (or nearly free) Starcraft!

I stopped by a local junk yard and saw these after work today.

This a Starcraft that I'm pretty sure was a closed bow $200

This has no markings but it looks like Starcraft construction $125

This is an Aerocraft $150

Prices might be able to be negotiated just a little. They are rough and there are no trailers. I'm almost thinking about the first one.

Looks like that splashwell has been modified ? and missing those back corners that can be a pita to find . Seems like it was probably an open bow but has that ugly mariner paint on the gunwales. I see carrying handles on the back so maybe just smaller than it looks ? Looks like right side console and some kind of shelf/ seat brackets in there? I guess for 200.00 You can make it into whatever You want :) I think it might have originally been one of those fishmasters .

64 I like that first one too, looks like a 14' Holiday to me:)

That splashwell is factory, just a small one.

That would be a great little fishing boat and the price is right.

The transom is shot but could be rebuilt

Something was modified up front, the inner upper vertical piece looks like alum. siding.

I grabbed the transom caps for a steal.:D

I know EZ mocks em but I think a 16 footer with an IO is really cool. Not really for a main boat but more like a cruiser/fun/toy kinda deal.

16' Starcraft Aluminum boat - w/ 4 cyl in/outdrive on a tilt trailer - $575 (sand lake)

Would be fun to try and convert this to an OB and put my Merc 500 on it, but SWMBO would not like another boat hanging out in the yard.

"I don't know anything about the motor / drive unit"............."A economical project that is nearly complete" ....... LOL amazing what people will put in a CL ad. Would be a cool project maybe convert to a Jet drive :D

How would you get to the bow, without falling into the lake?

It's the ultimate dating boat, your daughter in front, the guy in the middle and you driving in the back. No one will ever mess with your little girl at least not in the boat.

Re: The search for a free (or nearly free) Starcraft!

Same hull as mine and in similar condition to what I bought. A 110 Johnson/Evinrude which is what that is I believe is 80s or newer and COULD be a real good engine. If the paperwork can be put in order, might be worth pursuing. Yorkboater was interested in a NY boat a couple weeks ago and I believe there boat commission was decent to deal with.

Same boat has been relisted for $500. Spoke with the seller and the boat was mostly redone by a previous owners -- new floor and hull repainted. That owner abandoned then left the boat to be abandoned, which is how the seller acquired it.

Seller says boat has been outside for about 5 or 6 years and that everything will most likely need to redone. He says the motor is not seized, but that he has never tried starting it.

Probably the bigger issue is that the seller has no paperwork (previous registration or title) for either the trailer or the boat. I would think that could be a real problem for an abandoned boat. Trying to decide if it's worth the 2 hour trip to check it out....

I'm allready eying my third project. I know I'm sick. I just really want a 14' Mariner, or a Kingfisher.

Seems like there are a bunch of Jets around you can turn into one;)

The more I look for a 14 footer the more I like the Jet project. You are the eccentric genius of Starcraft brohood. Like Angus Young of AC/DC. At first you don't really understand him but then it all becomes clear.

Well I don't know about all that.

I think it was you that referred to me as...

"a garden variety poop starter"

That's probably a little better fit;)

yea that sound more like me. It was late I was tired, I get slap happy when I'm overly tired. I'm at my best, at or slightly before sunrise.

There is a real lack of bottom feeder 14 footers. I underestimated how popular that size is. Maybe next year I'll find a way to trade up from the 12' to a 14' or dare I say 15'. I'm pretty sure the frying pan comes out at 15' though. Lisa has a major league swing too, doesn't hit like a girl at all. I'm on dangerous ground here. If only I had a small accomplice, someone whom she loves a lot hmmm.... Well I've got a little while to think on this.

The Jet was pure genious though. Where'd you get the idea, EZ?
