Hey TC, nice job on the trim/tilt switch and the splash! I guess you guys are about at the end of the boating season, so here's to heaps of fish before the ice comes.

The nice thing about the trim/tilt switch is that it's kind of bulky, however, I do like that. It's right at my thumb and it's not in the way at all. Our fishing here closed the first weekend in September. Gross for sure. I still have probably 4 or 5 weeks left before the lakes start to freeze. Then February, the ice fishing begins. It's cold but very fun.

Nice work. It must been nice to be able to put in right at the house.

We used to be able to do that but were on the west side of the lake and our ice comes in very hard and bangs up our dock and shore.

I've been able to get out a couple of times so I had my wife shoot this video. It's hard to get one on the water since I have the only boat on the lake..lol. The weather seems to turn bad on the weekends as well. Of course.

What a shame that nobody is around to check out the sweet rig. Best thing about this time of year is no boat traffic.

I'm sure you could win a few races too, no doubt folks would see the outboard and assume it's a "normal" one when placing that first bet:D

The rig looks great TC, really nice job. That tilt/trim switch looks great and I thing I want to do the same thing on my old Merc throttle somehow.

Getting ready for ice fishing season over here as well.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Yeah, I was thinking of holding a boat show. I could walk away with a lot of trophies..lol. I still have a couple more weekends left before the lake freezes. We had some snow flurries this morning so it's soon getting time to store it.

Don't you just hate the end of summer! It was almost freezing here this morning, I can just imagine what the temp was there! Glad my lake doesn't freeze, I was just thinking what it would do to my dock if it did!

I hate it. Go to post 260 and you will see what the ice did to mine last spring. It was 31F here this morning.

Well, it was the last ride of the season. The weather is turning cold and there is no sense in fighting it anymore. Took my last run to the cabin to finish the roof repairs from the hurricane. I just thought I would share some pics and a video of my last run. Nothing special. You boaters in the south are so lucky to be able to boat all year. I'm done now until late May.

That thing screams. Seems like the perfect little boat for that lake.

Glad too see you got her out one more time! I'm tempted to take mine out once more.....but I have her all ready for winter and stored away...at least until I get some extra $$ to do some work to her! Any plans for yours this winter?

Thanks EZ, it's perfect for this lake. I've had it at 54kph (34mph) by gps. Even with 4 people and gear it stays at around 30mph. I guess that's the big gearcase on this Commercial Johnny.

Hey Arch, it's sad the we have to put away our boats. I have no plans for the boat over the winter but, like you, I need to get some extra $$ so I can put into my outboard. I noticed the starter drive doesn't always engage, so I'll be looking for a new starter. I'll probably replace the solenoid and coils just because. It's good to have spares anyway. A second battery is in store as well. I would like also to get a kicker motor as well, perhaps a 4 or 6 hp. As far as the boat goes that will wait until the spring. Just some minor things.

Really EH, surprising with only 45hp. How big is the boat.

The boat is 14'9. It's a low profile boat and is only 68" wide. It's rated at 705lbs from the factory. The outboard is a commercial model with a 4 1/4" gearcase. It has 13 1/4 X 17" aluminum prop. I had stainless on it and found no difference between the two.

Wow, mine is 17' but a very wide boat, full of foam, and wet mind you, wet floor and transom!! LOL, and I could only get 40mph out of it, with a 115hp and a 13x17 ss prop. We'll see what she can do after the rebuild, I'm hoping for some more top end out of it. I don't think the hull design lends itself well to speed though.
