Re: Starcraft Parts

Hello.
I have been a member for about two years. I've been reading and taking ing the knowledge available in this forum. I own a 1968 18' Holiday IO and my son owns a 1975 21' chieftain IO w/factory hardtop. My son is a marine mechanic at a good size marina adjacent to the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior. The Boats(sail and power) that he works on, range between 30' to 100'. He still prefers our starcafts.
An exact twin to his boat(including the factory hardtop) was involved in a accident(the boat did not sink) that totaled it. My son bought it and we stripped it. The factory hardtop was removed with out cutting any thing. We just unscrewed, unbolted, carefully drilled rivits to get the hull hardtop separated. The glass is all good and the rest of the hard top is in great shape.

Thanks Hartzj

Man, that looks in pretty good shape. That would be a very valuable piece for a fella working through a hard top project.

I wonder if I can retrofit that onto my 18 footer.

Do a 18' & a 22' Chieftain have similar beams? Looks like a whole lotta cabin & roof for an 18'

I doubt the beams are the same...Just dreamin about a bigger boat already I spose. Besides, all that metal so high up on my hull would make her tippy for sure.

Re: 1968 Starcraft Islander 21' canopy for sale

I have a canopy with side and back curtains for a 1968 Starcraft Islander 21'. The canopy is a bit faded but still intact and working. The bows are intact and included as well. The whole thing resides in Turner, Oregon. Not as good as new, but you'll easily get a 2-3+ years out of it. PM for details.

Re: Starcraft Parts

I've got a pair of transom caps from my MC that look almost identical to the ones on my Mariner if anyone is looking for some.

Also, I've got a black plastic helm with "Starcraft" in the center. I was going to throw them up on eBay but if anyone here needs them give me a shout

Re: Starcraft Parts

I have the surround bow rail from my 1972 SS180 if anyone is interested. I love it, but I need that area for a trolling motor, which is a must. I don't know how I would be able to ship it, so it would have to be picked up.

Re: Starcraft Parts

Anyone have any ideas on where to get the material to replace the curved transom cap?

Is that the trim piece the goes under the motor clamp? I seem to remember someone found some channel that worked, but not an exact replacement.

I went to a sheet metal shop with a sample of the old one, had them brake a new one and then four of us held and shaped it to the curve with the help of a rubber mallet and clamps.
