hey, if it were about 2000 miles closer, i'd buy it bad trailer and all. i think Jas meant that a $400 tag on an Islander was ultra rare.....

dual steering, and spare aluminum in the splashwell for patches, what's not to like? shucks, some sellers figure the extra console would be worth an extra $1000 :rolleyes:

Tried to contact the owner of that $1250 Chieftain, and never got a reply. Looks like they sold it,

Hmmm...that looks like an 18' Starchief or Chieftain with an I/O to OB conversion, but looks original otherwise to judge by seats and console. Lotta $ with an old Chrysler, but that's a cool, roomy setup. If you had your own power, and it was 1/3 that price...

EDIT: never mind, says it was all rebuilt. So, water ready?

I like but still 5hrs away and too much $$ for my budget right now. I will have to keep my eye on this one and if it is still and call the guy in a month or so and see if he still has it. If I could talk him down on his $$ I might be interested.
With a 1977 I got to anticipate the motor/outdrive might be junk, that old outboard is not worth much, I bet there is some wood rot in the boat. That would be on ocean fishing machine all fixed up. With fuel cost like they are a v-8 is not going to easy on the fuel, that boat needs the in-line 6 or v-6 or better yet twin outboards.
