Nice! That would be a (at least) second theft of the marina mat!

I keep watching the calendar...

OK...took the boat out Saturday with the family and some friends. Found some flat back water to drop the hook and thought we would start grilling. Then a friend showed up with his boat and a girl of his. Then another friend showed up with 4 in his tub. 3 boats rafted up, 12 people, music, beverages, grills going...86? and cloudless...

Now I can't stand the wait until June after getting a taste of the boat parties again...

I'm going to ask the marina to leave the slip next to me open. I have this that I want to inflate and drop in the water:

That's a really nice one there, Fireman. We were up north last summer for a couple weeks and friends had one smaller, different make, that my lady and I really enjoyed. That's like having another part of home with you!

It is a blast. We had it the last month of summer last year and people were swimming up to it at the island just to ask if they could get in. I even had the Marine Patrol come over because they wanted to take a look.

The bottom is heavy mesh, so water comes in but you can still walk around on it. The bad thing is, no one can get in or out without looking like a klutz...

Here in South Florida the tourist and snowbirds are packing up and heading back north. June is dead here. What is the season in St. Augustine in June? Do I need to start planning on a slip and/or motel room now?

We are there every year about the same time, but I usually book the slip about a month ahead of time. As a matter of fact, I'll call tomorrow and reserve it so if you want to slip your boat near mine, just ask them (or...maybe as far from me as you can get! :D)

Tourist-wise, it's quasi-crowded. The weather is great and it is a tourist town, after all.

We also tend to spend a lot of time at the Mill Top Tavern, which stays pretty busy. I think I see an intervention in my future...

Hey Fireman,

Will your 10 year old son be with you?

It's looking that way. We had planned with him staying with my mom for the 4 days (their little 'vacation' each year), but she decided to go to Europe...must be nice.

At this point, he's along for the ride, which means the wife and I will have to behave ourselves somewhat. When it gets closer, we'll see where we're at. Shoot, we might need him to run the boat!!!

My sons will be 8 & 3 by then. Still too young to run my boat... Can your 10 year old run two boats?

Sounds like a good plan. Would you give me the phone number for the municiple marina please. I'm assuming I'll need a slip (so I can tie my boat up, too:)). Not sure how we're going to be working things.

Also, I was discussing this with the Mrs. and we thought it would be a neat idea to chronicle our trip from Sanford to St. Augustine on the camcorder. After the get together, I'm going to edit it all into a movie, complete with stills, video, music, and labeled maps. I'll post it on YouTube after it's done. Should be kind of neat. A lot of other people online will be able to put faces with names and might be more apt to join the next trip.
