Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

Just got word that my sitter has other plans now for the week of June 11th.

I'm going to have to change the date. SORRY!!!

What would be better for every one involved, the weekend before (June 4th) or the weekend after (June 18th)?

Again, I'm sorry about this...:(

The 18th would suit me better, but I think Sasto has to be somewhere close to that time for business, so you guys work it out and I will see what I can do to be there since I am scheduled to work til noon on the 4th. Once the date is set again I will see where it leaves me and what I can do with that. :D

Oh and by the way, "Stuff Happens"

Thanks for being so easy. I just hate it when things start messing up previously made plans. She originally planned on being in town but changed her mind and decide to go away. What can I do? At least it wasn't the day before after plans were solidified!

I'll wait until Sasto stumbleson this and see where he sites. I know he's supposed to be moving a boat North, but I don't know if the dates are solid of flexible. Gotta get with NSBCraig as well...

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

I may very well need to be in Deleware on the 16th. I have a land transaction going on that day which is very important to me. This transaction may take place before or after that date. I want to be there to close the deal if I can. This date has been set for a couple months and I don't want to change the date because all parties involved have set aside this time to finalize everything. I will know more as the time gets closer. If I can close the deal on the 16th I can still make it to St.Augustine late on the 17th or early on the 18th.

No worries, I understand making plans this far away, things will change, especially regarding boats. I have a delivery that needs to be done also in that time frame. I have ways to shuffle things around, but not sure about this one. Several people involved, including lawers, so you know how this can go. This involves my future as well.

We will see as time gets closer. Wish me well.

Hey Guys. I normally work weekends, but I should be able to stop in for a spell. If anyone has any questions about the area just give me a holler. If you're trailering in the best place to launch is off the Vilano Causeway. It's by far the best ramp around. There's also an Inn at the Camachee Harbour real close to the ramp. Not sure on the rates though, but close to the water/ramp.

How secure is that ramp for leaving tow vehicle and trailer overnight? If I can get there and bring the boat, I may want to use that ramp to put boat in the water, run to the marina where we will meet up and will probably have a room across the street from the marina.

It's not gated or anything, but I personally wouldn't mind leaving my trailer & vehicle there overnight.

Nice to have a local guy here!

St Augustine downtown and on the water is normally a safe place to be.

nlain, maybe contact the motel for parking, or maybe the marina.

I hope to see ya all there!

I'm sure glad someone is using their head. If you're staying at a local motel, we should have enough people with autos to help you get back to your ride. Tell them you need two spaces if there isn't room for the car/trailer combined.

Well, I'm now looking at Saturday, June 18th as the date (we'll see how far I get with this one).

I'll leave Sanford on Thursday the 16th, hang out on the hook in Jax that night and be in St. Augustine Friday the 17th. Still plan for the get together the next day.

Sasto, if you do get into town Friday, give me a shout (I'll give all my number prior to leaving) and I'll buy you a coldie...(_)?

Sounds good...Fireman, I just may drive all day for that! Sam Adams, please.

If all works well as planned I will leave DE on the 17th. Still in the thought of bringing a boat, leave her there for a couple days, do my business, and return. I'll figure that out later.

Do we have a new date yet or are you still working on that. Just wondering.

I have been looking at the parking lot at the motels and it would take two spaces, it does not look like you could put them inline, have to side by side in any of the parking lots that I looked at. When I make a reservation I will check on the parking then to see what they will let me do.

Sasto, nothing but well wishes, hopes and prayers... I hope everything goes your way, and better than hoped for.

The 18th being so close to your business arrangements, would the following weekend make it more likely for you to be able to make it? Fireman, please chime in here... Will the following weekend be problematic for you? This is your annual "migration", and I hate that you've got to delay it already. As soon as I know that the date is solidified, I'll go ahead and schedule the weekend off. Things seem to be starting to fall into place these days. It's looking better for my ability to be there. I'm really looking forward to finally meeting you guys.

nlain, NSBCraig, CheapboatKev, JaSla74, and all other iboater's... That last statement was not only for sasto and Fireman. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.

Re: St. Augustine in May/June: UPDATED: Now With Dates!

The last date that was changed was our second time changing it. Although I'm retired now from the FD, my wife still works and her vacation gets set months in advance. SO...I don't think I can postpone it another week. I certainly hope Sasto can make the plan work out to attend both his real estate deal and the get-together as I'm looking forward to meeting everyone as well.

P.S. Just added bright white lights under the boat. Tonight was the first time I saw them at night...Holy Crap! It's like looking into a car headlight! They are bright in our dark, tannic water. I can't wait to see what they look like in the light green water of St. Augustine!

Understood... Sasto sounded pretty confident about being there. I was just thinking about possible contingancies. I'll go ahead and make sure I'm off the weekend of 18JUN11.
